Ok. I am getting crappy performance from SCDA from, I think, the fact that the graphics settings always go back to high (next-gen) whenever I try to lower them. The only graphics setting that works when changes is the resolution, which doesn't really help at all. I want to change the graphics to my custom settings, but it always goes back to the "next-gen" setting. Please help. I really can't stand this choppy performance.
BTW, what settings are on when it's on "next-gen"? HDR, AA, AF etc.? That's what's most probably slowing me down. And my computer can handle the game fine on lower settings.
Ok I tried changing the settings manually in the splintercell4.ini file. I turned off things like HDR, anti aliasing, anisotropic filtering, mip mapping, HQ textures, precaching, translucency, and vertical sync. Now when I try to load a mission, it doesn't load. It just freezes the loading screen and I have to exit the program by ending the task (it doesn't crash, just freezes).
