Hmm... for some reason as far as I can see I seem to be the only person having THIS problem, which I will explain now.

Basically this game runs very very badly, even the menu is choppy as hell. And it sure aint my computer because I run Crysis on high @30fps.

The only thing I'm thinking (which does not make sense) is that this game for whatever reason runs a lot off the DVD. My DvD drive IS pretty bad, and a slow reader... but a PC game that installs however many GB's onto my Hard Drive should not require the DVD that much.

It runs smoothly for periods of about 3 seconds and then runs terrible for about 4 seconds, etc.

I also had this same problem with Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorow.

My PC Specs Are as follows:

XP PRO 32bit
Q6600 Intel Processor
2GB DDR2 Ram
XFX 9600 gt XXX 512mb
EVGA NFORCE 780i SLI Motherboard.

I'm using the 1.2 patch as well; does anyone know of a NO-DVD that works for it?

Either a mini-iso or crack... but if it does run mainly off the DVD then it is understandable why it plays so terribly Frown

Is it just Multi? Or is it single player too? If it's just MP, check a couple threads down about lag in-game, and there's a link that might be the cause of your problem.

Hopefully, that's all it is.

Chaos Theory or Double Agent?

CT we may be able to help you. Double Agent then you are screwed with the rest of us.

The latest patch for CT is 1.05 so i'm guessing you are talking about DA.

It's single player, and it's Double Agent.

I took the DVD out whilst playing but it was still unplayable.

So judging by Boobisphere this is a common problem? And it's 2008 and it hasn't been fixed yet...

There goes me buying a Splinter Cell or even an Ubisoft game again. Mad

UBISOFT stops supporting it's games after a couple token patches. The patches didn't even fix anything needed, really, because when I limped through the DA SP I had upwards of 50+ CTD's, 7 BSOD's (and previous that, I had never had one on WinXP) and numerous non-starts where it told me the DVD I was using wasn't genuine.

So yeah, you're in the same boat the rest of us are in, the one UBI left for us that's full of holes and already sank.

Could it be a power supply issue? Easy way to test: disconnect all non essential devices and if the game works better you need to upgrade your PSU. What are you using? That sounds like pretty decent rig, you're not using a cheapo unbranded PSU are you? Invest in something with a little more oomph if you are.

Go for Thermaltake, Xilence, Coolermaster, or OCZ (the best 4 IMO), and make sure it's a good high wattage too, I'm not sure exactly how much you'll need, but you can't have too much Big Grin

I have Xilence 800W Gaming edition PSU... One of them should run your system no probs...

Your video card is just too new. SCDA doesn't like the Nvidia cards past the 7x00 series.

Hey guys, just stopping back in to say that I gave up with this game. I have the latest drivers, my PSU is extremely competent and I've seen a friend running it on Vista with an 8800gts just fine.

I sold it to him.
