Seeing as the old "Useful links" thread by ms-kleaneasy dissapeared, I thought it'd be nice to put one together again, for users old and new (especially the new, it was a big help to me when I started here).

I can't remember all the links that were on there, and I don't really feel like trawling through 200+ forum pages to find them, but I will put the ones I know, and I'd appreciate if you could post any relevant ones I've missed...

Thanks go to: ANightMares - it was his idea, and ms-kleaneasy - for the original, and for stickying this thread. Thumbs Up

Here goes:

For people who wish to update manually (for instance if the game won't start after using the auto patcher to update to 1.06), the individual updates can be found here:

VEGAS UPDATES

I'd recommend starting with 1.05, then 1.06 as SOME people have issues updating directly to 1.06. This isn't necessary for everyone, I simply recommend doing it this way so if you are one of the people that would have the issue - problem solved before it even started.

MAP PACK

LEGAL TWEAKS

REMOVE DISTANCE FOG Can someone please confirm if this is PB friendly?

NIGHTVISION FIX

MULTIPLAYER SERVER ISSUE

To allow widescreen resolutions that aren't natively supported - 16:10 1280x800/1440x900 etc...

Okay, I have a question about installing the patches. Why is it suggested to install 1.5 then 1.6 when 1.6 includes all of what 1.5 has? To download both patches is crazy, because they are both large files with 1.6 being just a bit larger. Why? They're the same damn file, except what was added in 1.6! Upon my last install, I only installed 1.6 and have had no problems. Sorry, I just don't get why you need 1.5 first. You don't.

Some people have issues installing 1.06 on its own, causing crashes, and sometimes the game to not even load. This does not apply to everybody, but I recommend doing it this way to prevent having to re-install if it affects you (I've now edited the post up top to highlight this).
