I have a new PC with Windows Vista Home premium and I wanted to use my previously saved games but cannot find where they are with Vista.

Any help would be appreciated. I really don't want to have to start over again!!!

With a Win XP default EoA install, game progress is saved in \Sav\Store1 in C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Myst V End of Ages and Progress.db in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Cyan Worlds\Myst V End Of Ages. These locations should be the same for Vista, so look there first.

If you can't find \Sav\Store1 and Progress.db under Vista, it may be because you haven't saved anything yet. Try starting EoA and do a Camera save, then look for \Sav\Store1 and Progress.db.

Actually it´s the same on Vista the thing is that Documents and Settings folder have the access blocked for the new security restrictions on the OS they try to redirect to C:\Users that seems a farce by M$ to hide the real folder that is still Documents and Settings

First you need to unhide the hidden filder and older go to root partition in in c in the windows explorer click alt to see the menu click in tools the folder settings the view select option that say "show all hidden files an hidden folder" or something like that the scroll down the pack and unchek an option that says "hide files protected by the OS" it will appears some warning bulk just ignore it and put yes then click on apply then okay apl now the Documents and settings folder must be visible

Now is the part to unblock the access to it

You need to make right clik in the folder (Documents and Settings of couser) then properties click security then advanced settings the in permisions click on edit the edit again then appears a windows chek the option that says full access or toal control (or something like that can´t remember the name in english the clik) ok then appy and then ok close everything put apply option. then right click on the same folder again in porperties and again go to security in the center of the window there a option that says "to change permision make click in edit so choose edit and make clik in full control again the apply and apply the damn folder must be have thee access unblcoked now. Could be some subfolders inside documents assetings need you do the same too but I'm not sure

With all this you must be able to enter the location Mr. MoD said you and backup your saves. The problem withe fake c:\users folder is that alot of folders are not visible only the basic ones douments and others and why I dislike
