"We were unable to issue a license to you for Myst V: End of Ages.

The error message returned by the licensing server was: User does not qualify for a license."

Welcome to the Forums!

First, read through Need help installing. Then go to the Digital Download Support Center and do a Search for license. You can also look through the Knowledge Base or use the Troubleshooter.

Im still having probelms, i think it might be this trymedia thing thats disallowing it to be activated; and ive tried everything to get trymedia working but everytime i start up myst its the same thing with the license! is there any other way to do this? (without enabling safemode, and turning off the firewalls)

It sounds like you're referring to the steps in the Knowledge Base's "I get a script error or license error trying to activate my game." If not, do a search for license, and that FAQ should be first on the list.

Are you in some sort of hotbed of hackerism? Has your firewall program been telling you that it has prevented lots of intrusion attempts? (If it doesn't have that sort of notification, you need a better firewall program!) Have you had lots of virus attacks? Adware problems? Spyware?

If none of the above are true, deactivating your anti-virus/adware/spyware/pop-up software, firewall(s), etc., for just long enough to activate your Myst V license shouldn't be a high risk.

Your choice, of course.

No, i dont believe that i am a target for hackers. but i do think i might be losing my patience for this game im trying to get to work, however im not like that so im going to keep trying as long as you can assure me that this is going to work; and yes i have turned off everything and looked in every forum, knowledge base imaginable and have verified every account i could find (Ubisoft shouldnt make people go through this much trouble just to play a game; and if it means reinstalling windows i might as well give up!) Smash
anyway, please try and figure out why i cant get this to work because i have tried EVERYTHING but i still cant get it to work, thank you Heimdall.

I certainly will NOT assure you that "this is going to work". When you download a game instead of buying the boxed version, you do so at your own risk!

However, I can suggest that you:
-- a. Go to the Digital Download Support Center and do a Search for license. Try everything that applies to your problem in every FAQ the search turns up.
-- b. Go to the Digital Download Support Center and access the Troubleshooter. Select the Categories that apply to your problem, and do everything in the resulting guides that applies to your problem.
-- c. Go to the Digital Download Support Center and do a Search for refund policy, so that you know what your options are, or are not.

Please understand that the folks you find here are interested gamers who like to help, exchange ideas, etc. And all of us Moderators are unpaid volunteers who do NOT work for Ubisoft and rarely have any contact with them.

In particular, don't expect to find experts here in the problems associated with downloading software. If you're lucky, someone will post a "magic bullet" for your problem, but don't hold your breath. Doing so will likely end up with you looking like a giant Smurf....

There is no connection between this Forum and Ubisoft's tech support. Except for occasional references to Ubisoft on-line support FAQs, this Forum is completely independent of Ubi's tech support.

Ubisoft sponsors these Forums, but does NOT directly run them. So, complaints here will get you exactly nowhere! If you so desire, you're best advised to contact Ubisoft directly:

1. Go to the Ubisoft Support Center.
-- First, try Search the Knowledge Base (FAQ), which takes you to the Ubisoft Solution Center's Answers page. Search for your problem using as few key words as possible, and be specific when you select a product and a category.
-- If you can't find an answer that fits, call Technical Support at (919) 460-9778 in the US or look for an International Technical Support phone number.

2. Send a support request/question to a Technical Support Representative using 'Ask a Question'.
-- Click on the Solution Center's Ask a Question tab. You can also check on the status of questions you've previously sent, as well as see your entire question history, by clicking on the My Stuff tab.
-- Log in and submit your report via Ask a Question.

Maybe you could try by first downloading the free demo with the possibility to buy later. It would give you a good idea on how well it would run on your computer.

From C|Net (try first, buy later)...click here

P.S.
I remember having a big problem when I subscribed to Gametap for Uru Live.

It took me a while to figure out how to fill in the form the proper way, for my online payment.

Are you positive that your transaction went through ok ? (re: the license's purchase)

I did download the demo, and it worked fine; and yes my transaction went fine, but the only time i think its not is when it wants me to create an account for gamespot/Ign when i have gotten my activation code from Ubisoft, where i downloaded it from.

Did you create an account with GameSpot/Ign? Sounds like you'll need to do that to get anywhere.
