Is this the VIA/S3G Unicrome? If that is the case, the video chipset is not supported for the game. You can find out more information at the link posted below.

If you have a stack violation error problem, see Myst V: Main Branch & Stack Violation Error Fixes With Win XP.

No, Myst V doesn't support the VIA/S3G Unichrome video chipset. See Myst V: System Requirements and Posting Guidelines and Myst V: Installing Video Drivers With Win XP.

Unless you can install a video card with a supported chipset, you probably will not be able to play EoA.

What about updating the driver do you think that could help?

Keeping your video (and sound!) drivers updated to the latest version is something that you should do no matter what applications/games you're trying to run!

So, you should do the driver update(s) in any event. However, in this case - your VIA/S3G Unichrome video chipset is not supported by EoA - updating probably won't help.

You need a video card with a supported chipset.

Post a DxDiag report in this topic, and we'll try to help you find the drivers. See Myst V: System Requirements and Posting Guidelines under To post a DxDiag report for a how-to. Run all of the graphics and sound tests you can before saving the report to a file, and post *all* of the file. If the manufacturer and exact model number of your PC aren't shown under 'System Information' (System Manufacturer and System Model) at the top of the report, also be certain to include that information in your post.
