I am a dumbass.

I didn't like the directory I had previously installed MYST 5 in, so I deleted everything in it and emptied the recycle bin.

I want to install the game again, but when I click "install" on the CD's Auto-run, the program says that MYST 5 is still installed.

How can I fix this?

Reinstalling Myst 5

Usually this problem is related to the file named "vpd.properties".

You will find the instructions in the
"6. Clean-boot EoA Re-install, Previous Installation" down the page.

I tried rebooting, I tried the ADD/REMOVE programs option in the Control Panel, It just said that there was an error uninstalling MYST 5.
I just tried the vpd.properties thing, I renamed it to what was said in the guide using the Search engine (with the dog) but now I can't find it.

If you attempt to delete Myst V but "vpd.properties" is left on your hard disk, my advice is to delete that too. It caused many problems on my Mac. Forget renaming it; just trash it.

If your are using Windows XP, you should be able to find the vpd.properties file, in the C:\WINDOWS folder under under the new name you gave it.

like "old vpd.propeties"

Btw, are you certain you have enough free Hard Disk space left on your PC ?

Does the old Myst 5 still showup in the add/remove Programs window ?

I fixed it all.

It was was the vpd.properties file.

I gotta stop screwing around like that.
