I have had this game for a while now and had almost beaten it, then I left it alone for a few months. Now when I start the game, the Ubisoft movie plays fine, then the next starts, but with no video, then the sound skips and then everything stops. The menu loads but everthing is a bunch of scrambled pixels. I think it my be something with my Direct3D because I seem to have the same problem with a couple other games.

My suggestion would be to download and install the DirectX 9.0c runtime from Microsoft's website. Failing that, have you updated your video card drivers since you last played End of Ages? It's possible you may be having a driver issue if DirectX works correctly (which based on the notes you posted, it doesn't seem to be).
