I am having trouble with my install. I have no sound. I meet all the requirements but all I get is this high pitched noise (really hurts the ears) Any suggestions other then reinstalling. I waited till all the sounds decompressed so I don't think it's that. I have DirectX 9.0c like it says. not sure what else to do....lol

Welcome to the Myst 5 forums.

I would suggest you check your speakers/headphone settings. It should be set to Desktop Stereo or Headphones Stereo.

See the next instructions...
quote:
To check and adjust your speaker settings if your operating system
is Windows XP:

1. Click the "Start" button in the Windows taskbar.
2. Choose "Control Panel".
3a. If your Control Panel is in the default Category View, click
"Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices". Then click "Sounds and
Audio Devices".
3b. If your Control Panel is in Classic View, double-click
"Sounds and Audio Devices".
4. Under the "Speaker settings" heading, click "Advanced".
5. Choose the correct configuration in "Speaker setup" drop-down menu. (in your case, choose "stereo setup" even if you have a multi-speakers system)
6. Click "OK".

If you happen to have a Mac-Intel, see Myst V End of Ages (MAC).
