I have installed Myst V several times. in each case it refuses to start. The icon in the dock jumps once or twice and then nothing. I have contacted tech support and they responded

"There is a known problem with the latest Redeon drivers and Myst V. Until the next driver update is released, you will need to go into the graphics options of the game and turn off anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering. If the problem persists after turning off these two options, you will need to lower all of the graphics settings to their lowest levels."

When I replied that I could not get the game to start to change the settings they responded.

"Unfortunately, there is nothing more that we can do for you since the problem is not caused by the game. You will need to contact ATI's technical support for information about this issue."

Anyone have any thoughts?

I'm having this problem as well, odd thing is that I was able to run the demo just fine. I'm on a dual 2.5 G5 with 2 gigs of ram lots of free HD space all that good stuff, I have the latest drivers for everything (I've Tripple checked now) and apparently updating my video card driver was a bad move. ATI Radeon 9600 XT 128 meg all that.

I went into the control pane that came with the newest update, and set everything to its lowest and the game still wouldnt start up.

Latest version of the OS as well with all updates in case anyone is wondering.

Did either of you happen to move the Ubisoft folder from its default location in Applications?

Sometimes, moving apps from their default install location can cause the app to not run. Things aren't where they are supposed to be.

I did the first time yes, I then uninstalled and reinstalled. That really shouldnt be a factor tho considering that all the files should be included in the applications contents.

It could be if you now have a misalignment in your registry. Do you have anything like Norton Utilities / RegiClean with which to do housekeeping on your registry?

With Mac OS X, Myst V stores your settings under the following path:

~/Library/Application Support/Myst V End of Ages

So that is the Library folder located under your home folder, not the primary one on the hard drive. Delete these files to restore Myst V to the default state...
