This is not a question to help solve the game itself, but some technical help with a part of the game itself that just doesn't seem to work like it's supposed to for some reason or another. Please Help and read each thread below to see what all has been discussed by me and them! Thank you and have a great day!!!

I was told to post a new thread to get my question answered and to send it to Heimdall G, so could you please do that for me. Anyway here is what has been happening:

I got all of the symbols done correctly from above and have all 4 doors opened inside the sealed cave that once was and reached the end. How do I get inside the Lab? Where do I look to get in to it as I've looked all up and down the cave and can't seem to find an entrance anywhere at all. Thank you and have a great day!!!

Hi,
Welcome to the forums. If you turned all the rocks to the right symbols on top of the hill, all the doors should be in the right position. The lab is right at the end of the last part of the cave. You should be able to walk right into it. Hope that helps somewhat. The rocks that I am talking about are the ones you rotate up on the hill to select the symbols.

Hi,

I see two possibilities here.

1- it is possible to get lost in this underground tunnel. (walking back toward the entrance).

2- or, at least one of the door has not been rotated properly. (wrong symbol used)

It is possible to open them one at the time using each symbol and going back in the tunnel to check until it has opened. That is the way I did use, but it took me a long time to succeed.

Yes, all of the symbols are turned the correct way and all 4 doors are opened in the cave, but when I get to the end I reach a dead end which is the cave bluish wall that's part of the cave itself. Is this part of my game that may be defective or do you have a patch that may solve this problem that I'm encountering. Please ask other experts what to do so that I can finally get past this once and for all! I'm going nuts!!! Please let me know and have a great day!!!

From my end, it is the first time I see this bug and I am not absolutely certain how to go about it.

Three suggestions.

1- try closing the last door, go check if you see it closed. If so, try reopening it again.

2- If ever it does not solve your problem, I would check a good walkthrough to confirm that you have the right symbols.
Bert Jamin Walktrough... click here

3- If none of the above solve the problem, I would start a new thread in the Myst 5 technical forum and ask Heimdall G. if he could help you.

There is no Windows XP patch for Myst V, nor is there likely to ever be such a patch forthcoming from Ubisoft. However, there is an EoA patch that's only for Windows Media Center Edition.

As a first pass, try what nanoukmetal suggested. Then if no success go to Bert J.'s walkthrough, Noloben section, and make absolutely certain you've done everything correctly. Don't just say "yeah, don't need to, I'm golden" – do the steps again to verify! In particular, be certain that the stone pedestals are set correctly and that you're walking the cave correctly.

You've hopefully been using the Camera to save your game progress at important progress points, like at the start of Noloben, or where you first climb the rope ladder to the huge stone building and the four stone pedestals (the rocks you rotate), or at least after you've set the pedestals correctly. If you don't have intermediate progress saves, you'll need to start Noloben over from the beginning.

Starting with the pedestal by the rope ladder, *reset* each pedestal one turn to the right and then back to the proper symbol for that pedestal. Walk to the right after resetting a pedestal, to get to the next pedestal. With all pedestals reset, go back down the rope ladder, get the slate, go to the cave entrance, and proceed as follows. (Some of the turns in the cave can be tricky, especially since you're holding a slate, and you must go under 14 hanging light globes by actual count.) Always going forward:

1. Go into the cave, go left, go left again to the first hanging light globe (on left).
2. Go right to the 2nd globe (on right), and right again to the 3rd globe (on left).
3. Go left under the overhead light, right under another overhead light, and left to the 4th globe (on left).
4. Go right to the 5th globe (on right), and left to the 6th globe (on left).
5. Go left under the overhead light to the 7th globe (on right), and under the overhead light, then left to the 8th globe (on left).
6. Go left to the 9th globe (on right), right under the overhead light, and left to the 10th globe (on left).
7. Go under the overhead light to the 11th globe (on left).
8. Go right to the 12th globe (on left), and under the overhead light to the 13th globe (on right).
9. Go left to the 14th globe (on left), and straight ahead into the room.

If the above doesn't help, you may in fact have discovered another bug. Re-install EoA from a clean boot as detailed under Installing and Re-Installing EoA , "6. Clean-boot EoA Re-install, Previous Installation" in Myst V: Clean Boot Install/Re-install With Win XP. Before re-installing, carry out steps 1 through 5 under Overall Windows and Hard Disk Tune-up.
