I'm not ranting. I can't get the Myst V demo to run. I finally was able to start it by updating all of my drivers, but it gets to the first screen where it's talking about options, and I have no cursor!

HELP! I want to play the demo so that I can see what it's like and get a feel for it, but I won't get the game until my birthday next month.

You may have a corrupted demo download, especially if you used a "download accelerator" or "download helper" utility. Did you have any problems while downloading, like a download interruption and resume? If so, you may need to re-download. (I downloaded from gamershell.com.)

Or, you may have a hardware and/or driver problem. If you'll post a DxDiag report in this thread, we'll take a look at your system and maybe make recommendations. See Myst V: System Requirements and Posting Guidelines under To post a DxDiag report for a how-to. Run all of the graphics and sound tests you can before saving the report to a file, and post *all* of the file.

I downloaded from a mirror site the first time, deleted and then downloaded from ubisoft the second time, thinking it might be corrupt. That wasn't the problem. I had no problems with the download or installation. I even disabled my antivirus thinking there might be a conflict. Nada. I can start the game, pick my language and play. But, when it gets to the screen about "classic mode" navigation and options, the options icon is blinking, but I have no cursor. So, here is my report. Any help will be much appreciated.

You'll have to install a video card with a supported chipset to be able to play either the Myst V demo or full game satisfactorily.

hello all, i got the same problem that impulz... but i cant fix it. i created the account under windows xp like he said, but that doesnt work. I really need help, this game made me get it downloading even 3 times, and made me reformat the pc... and still wont work. It just stops the install and appears the message ''could not load wizard specified in /wizard.inf (104)''. It happens to me with the Myst V demo as well. I LOVE THIS GAME, HEEELP!!

You may have a different problem from impulz.

So, start a new topic and post your DxDiag report in it. To start a new topic (aka "Discussion"):
-- a. Click on the New tab at the top of this page, then click on Discussion.
-- b. On the resulting Post A Topic page, type a new title in the Subject: box.
-- c. In the Message: box, type in a description of the problem. Be as descriptive as possible, including where you downloaded the game from, whether the download site required you to use a "download accelerator" or "download helper" utility, exactly wht the problem is that you're having, etc., etc.
-- d. Paste your DxDiag report under the problem description in the Message: box.
