Where can I get the fly mode patch? I can't find it anywhere.

Check out topic LAKI'AHN "BEASTS" in Myst V spoilers section. Page 4,dated Nov.16. Nanouk has a link to the Flymode for Myst V EOA. Hope that helps. I tried it and it works. Is down near the bottom of the topic page.

This quit a long story

It all started when I discovered I could play Myst V with a kind of fly mode "bug or easter egg" which was quite different in it's behavor than the COBB fly mode (with other special effects) and was getting different slates than in the regular game. I did ask people in one of the spoiler forum if they knew anything about it and it started a lot of discussions all over the place. People did not beleive me anf a few thought I was a bit "crasy". In my mind it was something to do with the FreeAdvance mode. I did start a new thread on this subject. (will come back later about this thread). I did post a question at tech but never got an answer so I figured at the time that I was playing with fire. (I did delete my question when Alahmnat posted his guidelines later)

Because about that time my special post seemed to have been deleted and adding to this the no response in the tech. forum. I did conclude that we were not much welcomed and removed the fly mode question in my post.

Nobody would beleive me at that time. I will show a very special picture of a blue slate with a golden symbol at the left under the slate. That symbol would glow gold for about 30 seconds and would come back to normal after. The slate would stay blue...click here

Ah, so.

Alah very definitely isn't saying not to post ("stay quiet") about flymode! Rather, he's cautioning us not to start talking about flymode in the middle of a thread "unless the topic was created specifically for that purpose". That is, specifically to talk about flymode.

Inserting off-topic stuff into a thread is known as hijacking the thread, which is a definite no-no. Doing so causes confusion, and is discourteous and presumptuous as well.

Unfortunatly me and a few others went overboard with this subject. That is why I had made a special fly mode thread which I cannot find anymore. I will start a new one with a spoiler warning.

I followed that link and downloaded the patch, put all the files in the python folder, and ran the application. I hit patch. Nothing was different in the game. The page you linked to above said something about it being for the demo only. Is there a patch for the game itself, or did I miss something?

What pc platform are you using ?

Did you unzip the files ?

From memory, I beleive you are supposed to only copy the Patch???? .exe file in the Python file

Did you try to start the flymode in the game by hitting the number 3 key and then use the spacebar to go up and then hit the spacebar again to go down. The name of the file is pakpatcher.exe. It goes into the python file. Then you click on the .exe file and it should patch the file. Did you read the read me file.
