Whenever I exit EoA, my PC BSoD's with a 'IRQL Less or not equal' message. Only a hard reset will restore the computer. We've only started playing but it also seems like it loses some of our saved games.
I've scanned this forum and it seems like there's a fair number of similar issues. Are there any plans for a patch soon?

No patch plans that I know of, but continue to watch these Forums. If a patch is issued there'll be lots of chat about it.

The "IRQL Less or not equal" error is most often due to a driver problem. It's also one of the nastiest errors to pin down. To diagnose the problem:
-- a. Look for a Myst V Log.txt file in your Myst V Program Files folder. Its contents may be helpful.
-- b. With Win XP, you can use the Event Viewer to help with problem definition. Refer to:
----- 1. How To View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
----- 2. Detailed Usage of the Event Viewer /AUXSOURCE Switch Option

Examples of using the Event Viewer:
-- CD drive or DVD drive errors may cause unexpected program crash in Windows XP
-- How to troubleshoot CD-ROM drive problems in Windows XP
-- How to Troubleshoot Hardware and Software Driver Problems in Windows XP
-- You receive a Stop 0x00000050 error on a blue screen

Take a look at the Dell Community Forum, Dimension 8400 IRQL Less or not equal. Several possibilities.

In general, update *all* of your drivers, including your motherboard chipset drivers. Also update your system BIOS.
-- a. The latest chipset driver package from Dell, R91894.EXE, is available here.
-- b. The latest BIOS update from Dell is version A08 (you currently have have A04), D8400A08.EXE, available here.
-- c. Install the latest video driver for your GeForce 6800 video chipset.
----- 1. This is NVIDIA's ForceWare version 81.98 (you have version 66.84). See Myst V: Installing Video Drivers With Win XP for the installation procedure (follow it!!) and alternate drivers.
----- 2. Or, you can install the latest Dell driver for a PCI Express x16 GeForce 6800 (if that's what you have), version 71.24, R91822.EXE, available here.
-- d. Install the latest sound driver for your SB Audigy 2 ZS video chipset.
----- 1. The latest audio driver for your Audigy 2 ZS chipset is available from Creative, starting here.
----- 2. Or, you can install the latest Dell driver for your Audigy 2 ZS chipset, R92022.EXE, available here.
-- e. The latest drivers and downloads from Dell for your Dimension 8400 are available here. Update any drivers not mentioned above!

Also update *all* of the software you have installed, especially any CD/DVD burning programs like Nero burning ROM, Easy CD/DVD Creator, etc. (If you have an earlier version of Easy CD/DVD Creator, update to Easy Media Creator 8 Suite.)

Worst case, if nothing else helps, you'll need to re-install Win XP and all of your software.

Well, I applied all the updates, and like a good troubleshooter, tested in between each. Naturally, the final update (Video driver -- I chose the Dell version) seems to have done the trick. I've exited cleanly a few times since that update.
