Hi
My frame rate is very poor Under 10 FPS and dropping to 2-3 at places. I have tried the things that was suggested in the forum, but nothing works.
I have updated my drivers for video and sound and upgraded my bios. I scanned for adware, virusses and defrag my HD. I removed background programs that I know of.
(Nothing like a game problem to get you to service your PC, hehe)

With MystV:
I have turned all video settings to lowest. Shadows, water reflections etc. off. Minor improvement.
I have disabled sound driver and it made no difference.
Games like D3 and HL2 runs fine on my system.
Can somebody please have a look at my DxDiag and maybe help.
I am an old Myst fan (since the first one) and are realy looking forward to this one.

Try running the game in Windowed mode at 800x600 resolution. Not an ideal solution, but your vidcard will have less to do, thus your frame rate should go up a bit.

I have posted my DxDiag (see previous) but still have not received a proper solution.
I'm not blaming you guys, I see there is a lot of good guys around here trying to help.
I have shelved it for now, but still would like to play MystV (that's why I haven't returned it).
So please can anybody have another look at my DxDiag and maybe have a solution?
Anybody got any news about a patch(es) yet?

Suggestions:

1. Your virtual memory paging file is not set correctly. Before changing paging file settings, note what you started with, so that you can go back to those settings if desired. Be certain that you're logged on as an Administrator or a member of the Administrators group, then:
-- a. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
-- b. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
-- c. In the Performance pane, click Settings.
-- d. In the Performance Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
-- e. In the Virtual memory pane, click Change.
-- f. Under Drive , click the drive that contains the paging file you want to change.
-- g. Under Paging file size for selected drive, click Custom size.
-- h. Change Initial size and Maximum size to 1024, the proper value in megabytes.
-- i. Click Set, and then click OK.
-- j. Click OK to close the Performance Options dialog box, and then click OK to close the System Properties dialog box. Close everything back to the Desktop.
-- k. Reboot

2. Before starting EoA, you should have closed all unnecessary background applications and processes using Task Manager as follows. Close everything except for Explorer.exe, Ctfmon.exe, and whatever your hardware needs:
----- 1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del once, and then click on Task Manager.
----- 2. Click on the Applications tab.
----- 3. Click on the desired application to highlight it.
----- 4. Click on End Task.
----- 5. Repeat this procedure until all unnecessary applications are closed.
----- 6. Click on the Processes tab.
----- 7. Click on the desired process to highlight it.
----- 8. Click on End Process.
----- 9. Repeat this procedure until all unnecessary background processes are closed. If you aren't sure which applications and processes can be safely closed, check out the AnswersThatWork Task List Programs index. The most common tasks are described, and which ones are essential and which can be safely closed are noted.

Note: DO NOT leave your Internet connection active after doing this, especially if you have only a software firewall. An active connection with no firewall is an open invitation to hackers, who are most assuredly not your friends!

3. Install ATI's Catalyst 5.11 video driver, as detailed in Myst V: Installing Video Drivers With Win XP. If Catalyst 5.11 doesn't help, try Catalyst 3.8.

All Catalyst drivers are available from ATI starting here. For Catalyst 3.8 (Catalyst 4.12 and earlier):
-- a. Click on Drivers and Software in the left-hand pane, then on Windows XP > RADEON > Previous Drivers and Software.
-- b. Click on Next in << Previous Page 1 of 2 Next >>.
-- c. Click on RADEON Previous Windows XP Drivers and Software versions prior to CATALYST 5.1 / Multimedia Center 9.03. Catalyst 4.12 is at the top of the page; scroll down for Catalyst 3.8.
-- d. Download (from the column headed "Display Driver Version") CATALYSTâ"ž¢ 3.8, Driver Build 6.14.10.6387, 7-94-030917m-011434c.

Install as for Catalyst 5.11.

4. Re-install EoA from a clean boot to your C: drive, as detailed under Clean-boot EoA Re-install, Previous Installation in Myst V: Clean Boot Install/Re-install With Win XP.
