Has anyone out there successfully played Myst V using parallels? I've seen it discussed as a possibility, but I haven't seen a post regarding it's feasibility. I received the Windows version as a gift right before I switched over to a Macbook and I use Parallels for my job, so I thought I'd give it a try and play it using parallels. I didn't have any problem installing it, I installed DirectX 9, and I've 'optimized' via the Parallels interface for graphically intensive work. That said the game is running really slowly even with everything down to the lowest settings in game. I thought perhaps I needed to load the latest windows drivers for my graphics chipset, but the Nvidia site stated that I should be going through Parallels for my drivers.
I've considered using bootcamp to just partition my drive and run it that way, but I've only got an SP1 Windows XP release, that I've updated to SP2 via Parallels, and I don't want to bother with slipstreaming it onto a CD if I can get Parallels to run it well. Any ideas? |
