I really hope someone can help me resolve this issue, the jittery mouse movement completely ruins the calm and relaxing environments of the game.

In general,
-- When playing EoA, always log into Windows with full Administrator privileges, not into a Limited User or Power User account.
-- Reboot immediately before playing EoA, close all open applications, and do NOT run any other applications before starting the game. Also disable all anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-adware, and any other system protection software EXCEPT for your firewall.
-- Do NOT boot up with the EoA disc in the drive, or with any disc in the drive.
-- When ready to play EoA, insert the disc into the drive and allow it to spin up to speed. Cancel back to the Desktop if it autostarts.
-- Always use the Desktop icon to start EoA, not a disc menu item.


Suggestions:

1. Install the latest driver from NVIDIA for your GeForce 7300 GT video chipset, as detailed under Installing NVIDIA Drivers in Myst V: Installing Video Drivers With Win XP.

2. Install the latest driver for your mouse, from the mouse's manufacturer.

3. Install the latest driver from ECS Support (select Product Category Motherboard > Socket 775 (Int... > Model 945GZT-M > Submit) for your Realtek sound chipset. The driver is "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver, version 2.04 (5700), 9/9/2008".

4. Run EoA using Compatibility Mode. See How to use the Program Compatibility Wizard in Windows XP or HOW TO: Use Windows Program Compatibility Mode in Windows XP. Try all of the compatibility options, if necessary.

5. Carry out section/step 2 of Myst V: Miscellaneous Video Problem Fixes with Win XP.

6. If none of the above help, re-install EoA from a clean boot, as detailed in Myst V: Clean Boot Install/Re-install With Win XP.
