i havent been able to install for reasons already discussed in other areas but now i cant because windows seems toi be revolted by the discs.
explorer will not work when the disc is in the drive and when i use ctrl+alt+delete, my desktop remains out of view untill i eject

Assuming you're running Win XP, Windows may be more than revolted by the discs. It's quite possible that you've developed some very serious Windows problems!

As soon as possible, do all of the steps you can under Overall Windows and Hard Disk Tune-up With Win XP in Myst V: Clean Boot Install/Re-install With Win XP. The alternative could be a rather messy re-installation of Win XP, including a hard disk format and loss of data.
