Graphically I don't seem to have any problems with Myst V except for often when Esher appears his movement is "jerky", as if it is skipping frames. I haven't noticed this with other characters like Yeesha, and in the ice cave Esher seems smooth. Any ideas what I might try? Not sure which of myriad video options would be best to try changing.
Thanks - JP |

Try installing the proper video driver for your video chipset and EoA, as detailed in Myst V: Installing Video Drivers With Win XP.
If that doesn't help, re-install EoA from a clean boot as detailed in Myst V: Clean Boot Install/Re-install With Win XP. Pay special attention to Overall Windows and Hard Disk Tune-up With Win XP and the "In general, any or all of the following may be necessary to prevent EoA installation problems:" section. Also, update your sound driver to the latest available from your PC or motherboard manufacturer. Sound driver problems can sometimes look like video problems. Heimdall Semper ubi sub ubi |

Thanks. I seem to have solved my problem by turning off anisotropic filtering (previously it was at the lowest "on" setting). I guess in some situations my system can't handle that and the character "video". I have a 2.6 Ghz P4 Dell Dimension 2400 with 512MB and a BFG Technologies GeForce FX 5500 256MB DDR video card.
