Okay, maybe it's just me, but do you ever find yourself wishing you could go in all those buildings like in the "Embassy" or "Treasury" maps? Here's a poll. Let's ask the UBISOFT Developers to create a "city" map that allows us to open every door, to go on every floor of the building, including the roof. Make it an all-out map, a big map! I know they can do it!

Here is the problem with an urban map with more than 2 buildings that can be entered. Each building will have several rooms if not more depending on what it is. If an apartement style building, that can mean more than 100 rooms. A simple house can have 5 rooms. An office building can have many rooms like an apartment building.
Now try and find a team (when playing TDM) in all those rooms. Not conducive to a TDM type game where many of you want to run around and just kill everyone to begin with. This doesn't take into account the number of polygons such a detailed type of map will call for. Complaints of poor preformance already abound for consoles. Do you really want to incite more? Well, you obviously know more than I do about game development, so I'll take your word for it. At least make some of the buildings accessible. They did it in the first Ghost Recon for the Original Xbox. I hate it that you can see stairways and balconies that you can't access. They completely eliminated the ability to open doors in any building in the GRAW games for 360. That was a prime feature.
So, okay, every building being accessible may be pushing it. At least do a handful of buildings in the urban maps accessible. |

Yeah going inside every building would be pretty hard to do. The only thing I hate is they put a tower on the map and then they go and put a fence around it so you can't go up it. So it's just there for looks. That's what I find stupid. It doesn't take much work to clear the fence and allow someone to go up the steps to the top. Plus bushes stopping bullets is kinda annoying to, fix those first.

Why couldn't they just give us the ability to open doors and go in rooms like we used to be able to do in the original and island thunder? back then there were only select places you could enter on the map, the rest was open areas. I don't want any maps just in confined spaces, it's bad enough we have people using the 3rd person cheating of being able to see around corners. Plus Ghost Recon has never been about having maps in very close quarters like a multifloor building. |

Looking at Docks for GR, you had 4 buildings that were enterable. 2 were sheds with 1 big room and 1 small room. The other was an office type building and the 4th was the sub pen that had a couple of rooms. Also, Airfield in GR had the hangars, control tower (this is one you do not really want all the rooms accessible as there would be many to clear) that has about 4 rooms and the 2 barracks type buildings.
These type of maps allowed for some, but not much CQB and didn't tax hardware. A small map with 4 or 5 buildings with 3 or 4 rooms apiece would keep people quite busy for some time and with adding just shells of buildings (like the Vilinus map) would be something that could be handled by even console hardware. The trouble is getting developers to actually put fan suggestions to use. Unfortunately, the GR forums have been filled with suggestions for years, yet they fall on deaf ears. Yeah like our suggestions to bring back the ghillie suit. 4 titles go by, and no ghillie suit.

That would be awesome. On the other hand people would pretty soon avoid those rooms where the Ghillie Suit would be allowed. Just like rooms with no restrictions. Stockholm Island Thunder |

No ghost recon was meant and will always be known for outdoor combat. If you want indoor combat you should check out the less tactical Rainbow Six Vegas !

Dude you should hear the whining that goes on in the Battlefield Bad Company forums about snipers. There's actually people calling for an option to turn off snipers. They can't handle getting sniped, and don't know how to over come a sniper in the outfield. |
