I never suggested any such thing and I'd appreciate you not putting words into my mouth.

My point which you seem to want to avoid is that you are stating as fact the games development period when you are basing that information on nothing but guess work (yet again)

Stop guessing and assuming, it succeeds only to wind you up when you convince yourself that this guess work and assumption is somehow fact

WOW thats a very well worded post.

Just for the record my last post was a joke. It's was a **** take at how people can take the words of a person that might or might not be in a position to know something about porduct x or event x and twist them to seemingly prove their own assumptions. Hell I've been guilty of it myself in the past, present and probably will be again in the future.

But I will say this. With absolutely no information you can't be surprised that people will fill the void with their own guesswork.

Thats all I'll say on the matter. Now don't beat me too hard please. I'm just speaking my mind.

Over 2 year old game GRAW2 still fill up a 16-player session night after night, it says a lot 'bout the GRAW2 community and the durability of the game.
Do any other game communities have loyal fans like GRAW2?

In conclusion
Big thank you to everyone whom joined my sessions lately, replaced plenty COD4-players on my friends-list with new GRAW2- friends.

nope another news conference thingy has come and gone and still not a word. Typical Ubi, why should anyone expect any news until a month before release and even then it will jsut get delayed for the tenth time.

My guess would be that they won't release any important information about Ghost Recon until long after the next COD game is released. They will have to try to find a way to focus marketing on whatever options Ghost Recon has that are better than the competition.

In the past I would have said that a COD game and a Ghost Recon game were apples and oranges due to the original Ghost Recon being realistic and strategic while COD was more run n gun. However, given how UBI has gone away from realism in its FPS type games, I think they will be directly competing for the same market.

I hope to God not... I am praying for a return to its roots and that would coincide with UBI pushing the release from what would have originally been right around the release of OFP2 (which looks like old GR on steroids)...

I can't put my finger on it but there's something missing from OFP2 which is stopping me getting excited about it. Maybe because it looks too polished and streamlined. Maybe its the bad story. Maybe its something else but OFP2 isn't a must have for me.

Yeah it just doesn't do it for me either. I think it's mainly the online, you'd think with all of Graw's options and all the call of crap options they'd have come up with something better than all those friggin bots.

But yeah guess what microsoft just released what will be showing at their upcoming event and no Ghost Recon what so ever. Crackdown 2, a game that won't be released until next christmas at the very earliest, is going to get at least a video though. Where as a game like Ghost Recon 4, which was slated for march, meaning it's has way way more done to it then Crackdown 2, isn't even getting a video. Not even a coming soon thing. What a bunch of garabage.

Just when you think Ubi's pr department can't go any lower, it does.

This is why you wont see GR4 til september 2010 at earliest.

Its taken from an interview with Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.

A number of other publishers have delayed key titles too – are the publishers waiting for a better economic situation in 2010?
Well, now we have a situation where there are a lot of good games due for release in the first half of next year, but I think some publishers will move again. The first quarter of 2010 is looking pretty crazy. So I expect some movement from the other players – some of those delayed games will be moved again.

hahahahahahahahahaha that is just one big cop out, classic misdirection. Ubi is just covering their backside, so when they delay it once again, they can say they already said it might get delayed again.

And saying everbody else is doing it is such bs. Nobody is doing it any more than usual.

But geez, first it's "Financial Reasons" then it's "Needs to Polish things up" and now its "Because everyone else is doing it", since when is a company supposed to sound like a friggin five year old. "I did it because everyone else was doing it."

If their just scared of putting it up against call of crap they should say that. They change their mind so many times it isn't funny.

Alright I'm back for my monthly comment.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for a new game, until end of next year.
why in the world would a title be announced only 6 months before the release?
You have to remember ubi has to start from scratch with this one, the 30 people in here that post all the time is die hard ghost fans. those days are long gone ( the graw series that is )
I know all you guys hate cod, but thats were the gamers are now.

I mean they sold 1 million downloads on just the frickin new map pack for zombies. 1 million

Ubi will have to do something real special to get the gamers away from cod. Lets face it cod is the new game for most gamers.

they could announce tomorrow that the new graw is being released, and that wouldn't be good enough, to even sell enough to compete with cod's dlc. Lmao

I keep looking at this flash point, if you can't turn off he A.I the game will suck, and with all the tanks and choppers it is going to do nothing but lag. I don't see this getting anywhere.

But back to reality, Ubi has lost the fan base, i know you will all say no, once it is announced they will come back. The problem is cod comes out with content all the time, they keep the gamer hooked.

even if Ubi comes out with the game it would be two more years before you seen a DLC.

bottom line, is that Ubi can never go back to the roots of the game, sorry but i believe those days are over. Gamers now want the fast pace running and halo jumping fighting games.

I hate that as well, but look at the numbers cod has sold, it speaks for it self.

There going to have to come up with something special, and I think this modern warfare stole there thunder.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, but if Ubi doesn't come out with something soon they will miss the boat.

This time next year when the new modern war fare is release, the ghost will have fallen and ubi will be trying to buy in on the cod series

What I dont understand is why UBI ever went with this futuristic warrior concept. As a diehard Ghost Recon fan I never really got used to it and to be honest, dont understand how it fits in with the whole Ghost Recon franchise. To me it was like putting a square peg in a round hole. I played both games for a while but it never had the excitment and the intense online combat and story lines the old games had.

As for games like the COD series, well they have fantastic story lines but for me the MP is poor and repeatative. Bf2 was great for MP but even that became stale after 4 years. But I must say im really looking forward to BF3. Seems to me most games today have mixture of both good sp and bad mp and vice versa but none really excel at both.

I just hope UBI can one day capture the old unique Ghost recon spirit once again and produce an exciting new era for the franchise. That would be fantastic!

The original Ghost Recon was also futuristic featuring weapons not yet out of testing stages when the game hit.

If you held preference to GR over the later titles GRAW & GRAW 2 I’d suggest it was something other than the futuristic aspect which as I say was there to some degree or another from the start.

Although they used "future" weapons... there were no drones, huds, readouts, diamonds, third person... you have to admit that the series has been dumbed down drastically over the years.

A big failure recently was blind siege and set spawns. It's not blind when you know where the enemy is coming from and there are limited choices of attack.

The older games were tactical and team oriented. The newer games are run and gun... even in a tactical style game type like siege.

I'm not disbuting thats how many feel about the games, what I am disbuting is that this felt change in gameplay comes from somewhere other than the futuristic direction

As someone firmly in the "the original was better" camp, I have to concur: The issues with the GRAW series had little to do with the hi-tech features, and a lot to do with a lack of realism, "tacticalness" and non-linear gameplay/map-mission design (well, the AI, really).
