In the case of GRAW2 (PC) I think most of us would have paid for more maps and more content as long as UBI was going to patch the game and fix some issues. But to give the console group free stuff and ignore the PC group left a bad taste in my (and many other PC gamers') mouth.
I'm a PC gamer. Any comments I make that don't specifically state a platform you can bet I'm referring to PC. 3Sqn Forums All the cool LOMAC stuff |

While I do not have GRAW/2 for the PC, I want to know what we PC gamers got for free from Ubi for GR? I had to pay for DS and IT at $20 each. The only thing I got for free was mods that users created. GRIN did help modders create some content and GRIN did add some maps and game modes that weren't included to begin with to get the game out at Ubi's direction. Mathieu Girard stated the game would have been released over Holiday 2006 if not left out (games should be released in a complete state which Ubi has had problems doing over the last few years). Consolers got their own free stuff and more of it. Ubi has given PC gamers the shaft lately and this falls in line with what the CEO stated a couple of years ago when he stated that Ubi was going to concentrate on console games. It shows as outside of the GRIN made GR games, everything else Ubi has released for the PC recently has been ports from console games and poor ones at that. These are some of the reasons why PC gamers are upset and less likely to buy anything from Ubi again. What is fair? Let RSE create the game for the PC first ala Ghsot Recon with all features upon release with modding tools and direct IP support for MP gaming along with server tools such as SADS and the ability to ban unwanted players when neccessary. Then port the game to the console. It worked for the first game, it can work for future releases. Sell mission packs to both types of gamers. That is the time to add new content, not after release. Ensure that both versions are tested and fixed before they are released. If the PC version still needs patching, release enough patches to get rid of game stopping bugs. Niether version should get DLC for free unless both do. Games shoulk be released in a complete form without needing to add new game modes after the fact. Whats fair or not depends on the nature of the game. If GR4 is universal over all formats like OGR was then something along the lines of the co-op collection is great value for money and should be charged for on PC and Consoles. If the 2 co-op collection maps had of been bunched together and sold as 1 package then it would have had the same amount of content as DS or GRIT and been priced at a similar or even cheaper price.
People will pay as long as the quality and quantity is there. Even people like WK ( no offence ) will not complain at getting 8-10 co-op missions ( should be SP as well though ) 18 MP maps and new game modes at under $20. That is how you make it fair. The important thing is too make the game universal so that one piece of created content can transferred to all formats with minimal fuss and effort. And to WK no format should get preference over another. Just make the core game a tactical semi realistic experience and tweak other options to suit the different strengths of the individual formats. Then allow us to improve or decrease the realism as preferred. If ( big if ) GR4 ships with a user created content option. Then fair DLC packages over all formats would be additional features and assets for that feature and example maps/missions showcasing these new features/assets. Now that is value for money, which I think is key. |

Gaming is gaming. Actually, I did your solution when GRAW came out(actually when I could found an x360) and I've been satisfied ever since. It was strange at first, but once I got use to the controller, I almost hate playing with the mouse/kb now even though it's more precise. However, there is still a lot to be said for PC gaming and the GR series has been on the short end of the stick for a long time now. I'm not playing x360 GRAW1 or 2, but even two years after GRAW2pc came out, I'm still having fun modding it every now and then - and I know people are still modding GR1, a whole 24 mission campaign is about to come out. |

Aint that the point of playing a shooter game ? Point -click/press X- kill enemy ? I find using the combo KB/M much preciser , faster then using a controler. IMO a console (with controler ) is better for playing , say race games ,sport sims.... |

I guess that's why the military is using xbox controllers with their future weapons systems. Popular Mechanics Article After more than 25 years of gaming on both PCs and consoles... I'll take the console any day. |

If you could connect a console gamer to the same game version with a PC gamer I'd take that challenge. No console gamer in the world can out shoot me when I'm using a mouse and keyboard. Pilske, PC gamers don't have help or auto-aim on their games. We don't need the help. K THX BYE

@ ALL - I'm actually embarrassed at this very moment. Kimi's asked you all for some serious feedback and suggestions on a specific point and a bunch of you totally ignore her and break out into 'mines bigger than yours' playground games.
If you don’t wish to provide the feedback she's requested then I would ask you don’t post, this thread is not the place for petty games about who’s bigger/ older than who. @ Rugg – not all console games have auto aim and many of those that do add it as an option that can be turned on/ off as desired, GR was one of them. |

Dont know if this is still related after lisa's post, but i downloaded the demo for Graw 2 on the pc,and it IS,it is a hell of a lot harder than a console version. You need a really good pc or system card for graphics, there is way more you can do with options on your weapons setup, and the gameplay?Well the gameplay is just nuts. Its a whole new experience playing Graw on the pc.
Peace. |

Actually Paladin, SP/Coop missions shoud number in the 15 mission range for an initial release. A mission pack can add another 8 or so missions.
Both PC and console versions should have the same feature set. GR for both the PC and Xbox were virtually identical. There is no reason why sequels can't either. Of course, we PC gamers want a full featured editor like IGOR and tools for creating maps, characters, weapons and skins. "Do not build your community around a game....
