It looks like at least half of the "lone wolf" rifle from GR2 is finally making it to field tests.. It fires 25mm airburst ammo that you can set to detonate at a precise distance instead of standard 5.56 or 7.62 rounds.

You mean the XM25 from GR2:SS?

Its about time, strangely enough the weapon looks alot like the xm29 from OGR, but lacking the air burst grenade.

Hehe yeah I forgot there was a standalone version of it.. We pretty much always played with launchers turned off.

Gizmodo has some more details and pretty pictures.. It looks like they want to add non-lethal capabilities to it as well (just don't get those light green rounds mixed up with the light brown ones!)
