Great choices in the maps. Wide open, with lots of routes and options for team movement. Just the sort of thing that has been missing since GRAW.
Siege bases still are stuck mostly in corners on standard siege, which is bad. Should have been like GR2 with the base in a more central location and a random spawn for the attackers. Otherwise only gave each new map one run through on both defend and attack of siege, so that is all I have for now. ------------------------------- "I just blew your mind, didn't I? Just wondering...
How am I supposed to buy the new maps when the gamertag I use (and more importantly to you have points on) CANNOT play GRAW 2? Also, how do you as a business ignore a customer of yours for 10 months now? Just in case you don't know what I'm talking about, this ought to bring you up to speed: Multiplayer freezes everytime with my gamertag I've not heard one single response from anyone employed by Ubisoft/RSE. I haven't even been told "we're looking into it" or "sorry for the inconvenience" or "here's a possible solution." I haven't heard jack ****. I'm not spending another dollar/pound/point until I hear something. So, you're the PR person, let's hear it. |

I have some remarks towards gameplay. Some very good and some very bad. For the record these are the opinions of a siege player.
First very good: The maps look incredible, admittly different to the original. Plantation, Caves, Battlefield and Castle are standout maps. Alot of them have both CQB areas and lots of open areas ( finally getting away from the corridor shooter theme of the GRAW games ) and lots of rural type features. Love the foilage, bushes, trees: absolutely brilliant. Graphically excellent maps. Really have the Ghost Recon feel. Now very bad : Because the maps are so good it makes the location of the spawns even worse. WHY OH WHY do you continue to place the siege bases in the corners of the maps. Combined with OTS it makes the gameplay repetitive, stagnant ( campy but not in a good way ) and boring. You can have bases in corners but only with FPV, with OTS it becomes too easy to get to easy 3rd person points ( boulders, corners, bushes etc. ) that can easily control the areas of approach. If you want good OTS siege then you need flanking, and flanking cant be achieved with bases stuck tight to corners, you need more centrally placed bases. Random offensive spawns dotted around would also help but we wont be getting those for GRAW 2. The dropping of GR2 type siege was a massive mistake. Another point is that we need new camos, camos that actually work. The present camos stick out like beacons on maps like Railroad Bridge and Caves. They are many levels lighter than the environments. In essence the camo doesnt work. Not even slightly. This is a recon game, admittly previous to the new maps camo wasnt important as GRAW 2 was a complete corridor shooter ( with the exception of a few maps ), but now with these great rural maps they are crying out for the correct camos. In short we have great maps spoiled by very bad spawn locations ( well for me anyway ). And atm i wont be recommending these maps to any of my friends. Its the simple things that can make or break a game. Very dissappointing. |

Sorry to hear that, but thanks for checking and reporting back. I think the map designers need to play a little siege on GR2 and Summit Strike and look at the base locations on maps like Ghost Village, Missile Site, Crossroads, Mountain Falls, Peaks, Bunker Hill, and Pilot Down. |

Maps look fantastic, loads of detail, and foliage etc.
Paladin has a point about the bases. Battlefield looks interesting, because of the hil it's on, but the only one with a half decent base location is Swamp Airfield - you can get right in behind that one. Have to see how they play out on clan matches. Sometimes you think they are wide open when you first see them, but then they turn out to have 3 bottlenecks (crash site) or 2(riverbank), because the bases are at one end. Rooftop and Prison look horrible for siege - all the defenders will run out to go for the back shot on those ones. |

kimi, i wanted to say first, im sorry for doubting your info. the maps are nice. ubisoft did a good job transfering the maps to the advanced warfighter series not to mention we see them now in hd so they are almost new maps with a dejavu feeling. i am still a lil disturbed by what it took to get here all together but overall it was worth the wait. but thanks for the info that was correct and good job on the maps.
p.s. still should have been free buuuut....whatayagointado |

The maps are very good, excellant in fact.
I also like the fact that only the room's owner can kick people now in ranked matches. A big thumbs up to the developers and programmers. Marketing and PR still get a big thumbs down from me though. |

Im convinced that none of the design team play siege. Nothing else explains the level of bad design when coming to making the new siege. GR2 siege was perfect apart from the occasional short spawn. I actually read the reason why GR2 siege was dropped for GRAW/GRAW2. It was so new players didnt get confused about starting in different locations, so they could learn the maps quicker. I mean WTF. Siege with OTS should have a roughly centrally located base or at least a bit further out from the corners.
Now these great maps are only 20% of what they should have been for me. It shows a massive reluctance to cater for Siege players. The developers say that they listen on the forums and for 80% of the community thats true, they just dont listen to the siege community. Im absolutely shocked that the same mistake has been made for 2 games ( GRAW/GRAW 2 ) and now 4 DLCs. At this point its not a mistake but a willing decision to tell the siege community to go fk themsleves. As you can tell im very angry about this, I usually keep my head but this has really annoyed me. I would give feedback on what siege should feature for the next Ghopst Recon came but why bother when we definately won't be listened to. Maybe they will drop siege altogether. |

PALADIN BS -- > I agree and most of the host do a terrible job choosing camouflage for the sessions.
I’m a Ghost Vet, been around since the Playstation days. I and my mate have spent thousands of hours studying the maps. It’s a hobby we got, since we don’t have a life. Study and learn your environment, patiently. Start up a private room, go for solo elimination, set the session timer on 60 minutes, choose camouflages, invite a friend and send a chat invite to him. Walk and talk thru the maps. Sorry, if it sounds condescending it’s because my native language is Swedish. Try out every single camouflage available, take turns with your mate, and study each other when blending into the different environments. Flat, crouched, standing up, pronging, crawling and fast paste movement with different camouflages. Use the shadows; avoid corners or obvious and popular hiding spots. Distractions like smoke and firing without suppressors gives your buddy a short window of opportunity to move undetected. You’d be amazed how well you can use open spaces or just by lying next to tiny crass spot, mud spot or other dark spots on the map. And remember the eye reacts to movement, so don’t move. Discipline and nerves of steel is required. And believe it or not, I and my wingman find the Black or Green camouflage extremely effective. Of course the best way to try out your trained skills is always to go for hundreds of hours in Team Elimination just to compare theory with practice. This floats my boat. |

I have been clanning since Gr2. My team won the first season of the european GRSS ladder on Gamebattles. I have been playing since OGR on the PC. And I too test camos out. But the camos on GRAW 2 ( probably due to the HDR lighting ) are several shades lighter than the environments. This isnt so bad on darker maps ( german flaktarn works great on mountain falls ) but on sunlit maps the camos look awful and washed out. |

PALADIN BS -- > Massive respect!
I kinda figured out you where a Ghost of weight! Once again I truly apologize for putting you up on the Noob shell. German Flectarn on the GR2 classic map Mountain Falls is great; do try out the Black camouflage on it, you’ll be surprised. We also noticed that German Flectarn is great on Aftermath daytime. Talk about a face lift; The Island Thunder Swap Airfield, love it! Green Camouflage on absolute blinder. I do agree with you on the camouflage issue thou, poor quality and way too small range on them. More adaptable and active camouflage would be appreciated. And like you pointed out, the camouflage should be much more suitable for the maps environment. I do miss a good desert/sand/yellow based camouflage suitable for mud. For now we settle for American DCU. 08 Stockholm over ‘n out! |

No because Blind siege isnt blind siege. Only one of the 5 bases in blind siege can be found in the centre, the rest are usually stuck in the 4 corners with the offensive spawn located in the opposite corner. And even if they weren't it wouldn't detract from the fact that siege is watered down for the GRAW series. Just hope this is addressed in future Ghost Recon releases. |

I fully agree on the camo.
There are spots that they work in GRAW2, but they are far fewer than they did in all the games through GR:SS. The camo used to be much more effective. Also, the NV works too well on the new maps. I even found turning it on to eliminate shadows on Plantation to be effective, without blinding me to lit areas. ------------------------------- "I just blew your mind, didn't I? Question about the co-op missions. How do i get rid of general Martins video feed?
If not then this has got to be the worst co-op missions ever created in the GR history. The maps are great though but it looks like blind siege is going to be the only thing i'll be playing on them. |

Great maps, don`t know about siege because im not a siege guy but outstanding job, well worth the 800 points and the wait.

good maps. much better than other tunnel maps.
one thing i noticed on the redone maps is that some seem of a smaller scale. like there not as large in scale as older maps. caves is a big one that stands out to me. maybe its just me. also i wish RS would give up on the grass everywhere thing. this is just stupid. it causes a draw distance and kills the game for me. make the folage more sparce and stick at any distance. keep out the fancy stuff if its going to dissapear at a distance. the shadows are amazing on graw 2 but if they are going to dissapear at a distance than you might as well not even put them in. it was a waste of time. seige bases could be worked on. i prefer the ability to select bases like on grit as apposed to gr2. its too bad that a game that boasts of all the options and you caint even do that. the bases are there just let us do that. |

edit the siege mode so the base is always dead center map. |
