I'm kind of glad that they didn't.. That press conference was pretty embarassing. GR4 would probably have gotten lost in the two hours of endless blathering and the audience snickering about Ubi making movies and introducing its own in-game dashboard that's completely separate from the Xbox 360 or PS3 dashboards. Maybe GR4 will get its own announcement. And maybe someday they'll get back to focusing on making good games instead of wasting time and money on all this ancillary BS.
I totally agree! I couldn't care less about James Cameron and Ubi making movies. I don't remember a game that I've played in my life time that I didn't skip the in game cinematics after the initial play through aside from the ones you simply can't skip, which annoys the hell out of me BTW. I almost fell asleep! But for the days events other than Microsoft, both EA and Ubisoft seemed more focused on Nintendo. Very little time other than splinter cell, and assassins creed seemed geared toward the hardcore gamer. Are we destined as gamers to just watch our games (ubisoft movies reference), or just watch the kids play?
Yep that was a pretty embarrassing conference. God and I thought Microsoft adding Facebook and Twitter to the dashboard was bad, but this is just nonsense. Who gives a rats *** about the stupid movie thing. If I want to watch a movie I'll watch a movie, if I want to play a game I'll play a game, and as stated the cinematics are only watchable the first time around, after that who cares.
This is just getting disgusting and now with all the motion censor nonsense it is going to get even more so.
GR4 is probably going to be a big pile of **** if this keeps up.
and this is why I can't get a job in the industry... the industry doesn't want NEW people with talent and ideas.. they want the same people that ran the other guy into the ground to do the same to their company.
I'll work for half the cost of the other guy... and I bet I'll do better work and actually care about the game.

yup E3 is a joke and MW2 is lame *** movie that you need a controller to watch. please come through with the new Ghost recon. cinematics only serve as a reminder that your playing a game. take that crap out.
I for one want to be in control over my character the entire time I'm playing a game! I would much rather have the cutscenes use ingame graphics for the cinematics, and have some involvement in them, not just watch. I know it's possible to have the story unfold during gameplay.
Sure every now and then the cutscene provides a needed rest for the hands, but one of the things that bugs the hell outta me is when the cutscene looks 100 times better than the ingame graphics, I find myself wanting to play the cutscenes of some games more than the actual game itself.
Wanna know y, GR4 isnt set to come out til 2010 dude.

i agree with you mate i remember when the commadore64 can out and the mass of amazing gaming ideas that were being put out! this slowly decreased as new gaming systems came out and big buisness got involved ! sadly these days no big gaming companys will make a new game unless the idea behind it has been proven a sales success in a previous release! you sound like you have real passion and fire in your heart to make GREAT GAMES ! i have been gaming since the first gen atari and i'm begining to see the industry become as tired and unimaginative as a hollywood horror movie !
