I love the GRAW and Rainbow games but hated Call of Duty.
Anyone else with the same experience played Brothers in Arms? What did you think? How do the they compare? I'm thinking about getting it, but just wondered what other people thought. Cheers. |

Multiplayer is minimal and tacked on so don't buy it for that...
Single player is very good in places, especially if you like fire team tactics - a lot is left up to you in how you order your squad to suppress and outmaneuver the enemy forces. COD-style Rambo tactics will get you dead fast. Parts of the game are just you on your own, and I think that's where it falls flat. I don't think that's a big part of the game though (I'm not all the way through it). There are some graphical glitches but nothing game breaking. Definitely worth a look. |

i have a blockbuster movie/game pass. about 23 bucks a month. you can have a movie or game out all the time and just take it in and swap it as many times as you want. ive saved a ton of money by trying games first. i liked cod 2 and 3 but didnt like this one.
i caint stand long in game movies you caint skip. i like a little to get you into the game but some of these are so long i get bored before the -gamming- begins. its also tunnel play like most games now days. |

I use Gamefly myself.. Same deal basically - x number of games out at a time for a flat montly fee.
I agree that the game is very linear as it takes you from set battle to set battle..But so far it seems like there are at least a few different ways you can approach each situation - much more so than GRAW/GRAW 2. And the squad controls and AI are better as well, although occasionally your team does decide to run through the line of fire to go where you told them to. Like when I told them to take cover behind a wall, and they promptly ran to the FRONT of the wall then tried to climb over to get behind it. |

I went ahead and bought it.
I quite like it, though it took a while to get used to not having a scope! Changing the control set-up helped a lot too, the game plays so much like R6 it just makes sense to use the same configuration. I might even pick up the previous 2 games, just to get a handle on what is going on with all the characters. Overall, quite good. Not GRAW class, but miles better than COD. I haven't had a chance to check out the multiplayer with Live being down so the jury is still out on that... |

I haven't had the chance to try it out yet but from what I hear it sounds good. I enjoyed the two previous ones and I'm sure I will enjoy this one to.
I don't like old wars game anymore but for some reasons I very much enjoy the Brother In Arms series. Maybe its because the story is connected to each new game that come out. Anyway have fun playing Hells Highway and let us know what you think of it. |

Multiplayer is awful.
It's like GTA IV online, but without the fun. |

Sadly i have to agree with you on that one. tho, the MP could be better, SP is the biggest gem i played in 5 years or so. i own all 3 games and baught it the day it came out, because i was waiting for it for more then 3 years. here and there the game is a bit low on action, and the vissual looks slightly off, this doesen't mean it stinks, wich it doesen't. it's miles better than COD, and everyone knows that COD was berried in Arlington cemetary, next to all those other ww2 games who were killed in combat.
