I just bought the ghost recon pack off of steam. The original ghost recons are good. Then we get to advanced warfighter. and the second. My specs are:

Pentium 4 2.80 Ghz
1.2 Gb RAM
Soundmax digital audio card. <really horrible
ATI Radeon X1650 Pro AGP
^ 512 vid. memory W00t!

Then, Why in the hell is it running on low settings in the framerate of 15-30??? On both GRAW and GRAW 2. Is this just because of framerate issues the game just has?

It is unenjoyable and almost unplayable because of this... I dont have any viruses. Or at least I'm pretty sure...

Why is this?

P.S. On canyourunit.com, It says for both GRAW and GRAW 2 I have reccommended requirements.

I AM MAD! 20 BUCKS ALMOST WASTED! (at least I got ghost recon and the expansions)

Nvidia 8800GTX

I can run at 1680x1020 with everything set as high as it goes with no issue what so ever.

Your processor and RAM are weak. You should have at least 2GB RAM to play the game decently. The video card is AGP, so it isn't as good as a PCIe version of the 1650, even though it does have 512MB of RAM. The AGP bus slows it down a lot, so the vRAM isn't as effective.

Yes. The RAM is where the game caches the maps and other assets from the game.

save your money for a bigger upgrade or try and get your current system sold. its just too slow.
you would need more RAM and some overclocking if u wanna go the Sale route

+1

If you are computer savy and/or have a friend who does this for a living, I would suggest buying the hardware separately, save huges amount of money and build yourself a more current PC.

UBI games as of late are poorly optimized console ports (games made for Xbox 360 ported to the PC), but, even so, your rig is also very old and will not support many of the new and coming down the pipe games.

If I could suggest a site for you to check some hot deals of pc hardware

hardforum.com

slickdeals.net

Before you buy, make sure that everything is compatible, more so when it comes to RAM & Motherboard.

I kind of want to just get a new pc, seeing as mine is 4 years old...

Its just that gaming pc's are so EXPENSIVE!

I'm a kid and I make about $40 a month.

Are there pc's I can get with that budget (with saving for a year or so) that are decent?

Well, that's tough to say since it will come out to 480 dollars and you may find such a deal but, it will be tough.

Why don't you talk to your Mom or Dad, make them a deal they can't refuse? A's & B's on your grade and they go 50/50 on your PC purchase. Meaning, they buy the PC you want (about a Grand will do), you pay them 40 a month and they cover the other 40, if you don't keep up your grades, they get to turn the computer until your next report.

Stay away from Dells, HP's or any other name brand out there, those are junks if you want to play any decent games on them. sure the Dell XPS (top of the line) may be good but at 3 Grand, well... that's a little over your league, isn't it? Wink2

Life's is tough and the sooner you learn that, the happier you'll be.

True that.

Also I have been getting c's and d's. Have to get those up. (i'm not stupid though, I'm in AP classes as a freshman in high school.)

They probably won't say yes to that deal though... they are pretty cheap...

But I'll work on them though.

Computers are not that hard to build yourself (if you have done any upgrades, you have starting knowledge). Newegg.com is the place to get parts from as they have great deals (subscribe to their newsletter and they come right into your email's inbox).

My website has a build a PC guide that is newb friendly (I built my first PC 19 months after I bought my first one). MaximumPC also has guides to hardware for different price ranges for a decent gaming PC (a good magazine to learn about hardware).

Well, have you ever though that they may seem cheap to you because they are on a tight budget and they rather feed you than buy you an expensive gift? Yes, I am looking at this as a father! Wink2

Now, the other side of the token is this... perhaps they seem cheap because you are also cheap giving them nice gifts? I don't mean money or material objects, C's & D's are as bad a gift as they giving you coal for Xmas Veryhappy

Freshman in HS, that puts you at around 13 or 14, right? Believe you me, you want to impress your parent, make a contract with them of what you want and what they can expect from you and I am almost positive that they will make it happen. Now, don't expect for them to give first, sometimes, you gotta show them how bad you want something by proving that you are nost just saying stuff but can't back it up.

Good Luck to you.

Being that you recognized what W2S said and meant means you understand that being a parent isn't as easy as one seems to think it is. Just show your parents that you understand and who knows what will happen. Don't forget to see if they will help you buy the neccessary parts to build a PC.

Well, I finally got more RAM, so now I have 1.62 gb of RAM.

I played GRAW, everything was fine, nice framerate. GRAW 2 same good framerate, but constant freezing for 1 sec then unfreeze then 4 secs later freeze. It annoying, the framerate is fine when it doesnt freeze though.

So, Ive played with the graphic setting and I dont think anything help.

HELP?

1.62 gb is still way insufficient...
2 gig is minimum even though the box may indicate otherwise.
note the rest of your pc is at least 8-9 years behind also.... sorry but the truth is hard sometimes.
Strange to see the same questions pop up for years and years now....
