It only seems to happen when people are hosting too many people versus their connection. I only got dropped once in 3 hours, once the room hit 12, it dropped 3 of us so we adjusted down to 10 and it was fine.
I can't stay in a game longer than 2 minutes. I came here hoping to see if someone had the same problems or hoping it was a known issue and were working to resolve it.
I popped in R6V to make sure it wasn't my connection and played that for 20 minutes online with no problem.
I can get in the rooms, and as long as the game isn't going I stay there, but as soon as the game starts, anywhere from 10 seconds to two minutes tops, but generally far far less I am booted out.
And it's any size room. 2 people, 8 people, 12.. it doesn't matter.
Actually it doesnt seem like a bandwidth issue, last night I Was hosting on a 10 megabit fiber line (work) with nothing else coming or going and after 10 people drops started happening, its the same bug as GRAW 1 had when someone new joins the room everyone drops the next round, you get evereyone back in and it runs fine till someone else new joins...went through the same irritation in graw but we learned to lock the room and send invites only in the lobby.
Another fun bug new to this version is that after a drop no one can hear each other in the lobby and they can all hear the host. launching the room allows the voice to work again so it works where it is needed most...
So fixes to issues...
Dropping: Lock the room after launching, invites only in lobby
Host BW needs to be greater than 512 up 768 or better just about required.
i agree, i was playing late at night (11pm to 2am eastern time) and was dropping from large games small games pretty weird. i did find a few games i could stay in...but far and few inbetween).
There might be something wrong with voice chatting. either that or i was playing with some really quiet people! there was a voice chat bug in the demo, so i dont know if it crept up in the retail version.
GRAW2 is using same coding as last graw i think. If this is true and you have a weak connection you will drop. I hosted 16 last night 2hours and had a few drops but 12 friends i always play with never dropped. check your net speed!
Holy jebus, people. It is NOT my bandwidth. I have 12 megs down 1 meg up. I NEVER had a problem with GRAW, well until the last update when everyone had problems with it, but it still worked. This is retarded.
I enabled DMZ and went through that whole thing and it seems to have improved performace of Live in general, but i'm still getting kicked from games after they start. it's generally 30 seconds to 2 minutes in.
I think I'm also having this problem. I got dropped from every team game I played.
It mainly seems to happen in Team Battle, though I also got dropped 10 minutes into a CTF game. This really sucks. Team MP is why I bought this game, and now I can't play.
Is anybody getting periodic freezes at the end of MP games? When I finally get into a room where I don't get dropped (rare), the game inevitably freezes after 3 rounds. There's no way to recover except pressing the power button.
I should learn by now not to buy games until they've been out at least a month or so.
I have the same problem. Dropped from every game, and it is only GRAW2 that has this problem.
Me and one friend can't even play 2 person coop without dropping within 1 or 2 minutes. Both of us have tried hosting, and we don't have shabby connections either.
Can we get an answer on this? I shouldn't have to be running a T1 line to play this online.
I got a little more play time in tonight and still same thing. I did find a little more success lasting full games, but there were still a few games that i would drop (like everyone else says, usually within the first minute of game start). and actually a lot of games, if i didn't drop, half of my team did!
Hard to blame connection is this many ppl are experiencing it. I do remember seeing a video on IGN where one of the developers said they were going to push the graphics and everything over online play this time around since GRAW1 got some flack for having MP look like ****. Well, my guess is they pushed a little too much and ppl without flawless connections (which means..everyone with comcast cable/internet) gets the shaft.
Thanks for the guy who posted that he tried plugging into his cable modem directly. I was going to try that (actually, i still will, but at least i wont get my hopes up) as i go through a wireless bridge right now.
We can only hope that UBI finds a way to fix this. THIS problem is far more important than the cries of "ppl run too fast, the water doesn't move, put cover in multiplayer, it's too hard to aim" etc...
oh...and the voice problem too....i think that's worthy of a fix too =P
Same problem here... sometimes I could get 5 or 10 minutes into a co-op campaign just to have it drop me. Never had problems with 1st one either. I couldn't make it through but like 2 games. Forced me to give up online and play single player!
I'm going to have faith in UBI soft and think that they find a way to fix it eventually. It seems to be a big enough problem that they are probably aware about it. Keep in mind these are all real people and while making a game seems like a super cool fun job, it's still their job. They probably had many sleepless nights working to get this game out. I'm sure they are out celebrating the launch (hey...it IS a great game, they should be happy with it). Hopefully sooner or later, they will get back to work and patch things up. I mean Serellan hasn't even answered the 20 questions that were for him and the game's already out. i was thinking it would be questions he'd answer BEFORE the game comes out. Point is....they have lots of things to do besides write responses on forums. They've been pretty solid in years past. So lets just wait....
now...in the event that a few months pass and we dont' hear news of a fix coming.....then we can raise hell.
