Now while GRAW 2 might not have been everyones cup of tea, one thing RSE got spot on was value for money for their DLC. Having looked at the complete rip off, money grabbing DLC released for OFP DR on consoles, the RSE model was much better. Charging for minimal content already on the disk should be made a criminal offence.
I understand that developers need to offset the loss of revenue due to the 2nd hand market. So they release regular DLC to encourage people to keep their copies. But the way to do this is releasing substancial content. Like the 4 map packs for GRAW 2 which each had 9 mp maps ( think thats right, memories going ) and 5 co-op missions each. This reminds me of the great expansions packs that most games used to have.
So hats off to RSE and hope you and UBI keep the same model for GR4.

IMO you won't find a game with a better bang for you buck when it comes to content than GRAW and GRAW2. Actually, the same could be said for the Rainbow 6 and Splinter Cell games too. I agree Codemasters is about the worst, but I have just as many issues with how Microsoft and Activision handle DLC.
The title of the thread is Hats off to RSE, not hats off to GRIN. Plus the reason of the thread was to give positive feedback on a great feature and to indicate that we hope its will be repeated in all future RSE products.
Yeah they did a great job with the GRAW 2 DLC. It was a nice mix of new and classic, and the price wasn't out of whack like they tried with the awful GRAW 1 DLC. I do wish that they'd realize how badly having all these extra paid map packs splits the online community though. It's a real problem.
I know PC Ghost Recon fans have been screwed over and there's no excuse for that. But I feel that giving constructive criticism this one last time is better than quitting GR altogether. I'll be playing GR4 mostly on PC when it comes out and hopefully modding the bejesus out of it. So I'm invested in the PC version of GR4 as well.
So after all the FAIL that we've seen since GR was released you're going to buy it sight unseen? Sorry, UBI is going to have to get back in my good graces before I spend a penny. I want to try it before I buy it so I expect to see a demo.
I'm a PC gamer. Any comments I make that don't specifically state a platform you can bet I'm referring to PC. 3Sqn Forums All the cool LOMAC stuff
I didn't say I will buy it no matter what. I've wait until I get the opinions of people I trust. Same with OFP DR. That looked like a great game 2 months before releaser but turned into a pile of crap.
I will say that if GR4 ships with extensive mod tools then I will get it because I believe ( rightly or wrongly ) that with some work and the help of others a great GR game can be made with a average core game and good modding abilities.
