trip wires, sets alarms off or red smoke, communication towers, if team destroys it, other team no longer can communicate with each other for the rest of the game or untill restored. I'll let you know if I get any ther ideas

The claymores should be set so you do not have to press a demolition button. We should knife each other. More freedom! I dislike cod because the maps are for birds in a cage!

INteresting idea. And I like the idea of the COMM tower.

COMM Tower is nice idea and chromehounds used this feature with multiple towers on a map and a radius of COMMS, or if you had a person with a Mech equipped as a leader that gave you some limited range COMMS on the move.

Unfortunately, on the 360, with the implementation of party chat, unless they can disable the party chat while the game is running it ruins the communication aspect of games.

It is already noticeable in that games that used to cut off communication of dead players to living players, now everyone is just in chat and dead players are acting as spotters for the living players.

Same applies on PC with vent and TS really.

Which is a shame because this idea does have some potential.

It sounds good but the Party chat thing would make it difficult. I'm sure you could block party chat.

Some games show an icon in the lobby when someone is in private/party chat, so when someone either is or tries to go into chat, the game could pop up a system message saying "party chat is not allowed while playing this game mode, if you continue, you will be ejected from the game" or something. That might work but it would be a bit irritating.

I think you might be able to have something similar to COMM mode but have it disrupt something other than actual comms, like the HUD. Or maybe a 'limited ammo' mode, where you must resupply often, but the supply stash can be destroyed/captured or something.

I'd love to see some interesting new modes in the next game. GRAW2's modes were very hit and miss, mainly because they weren't particularly well made. Exfiltration for example had great potential, but was poorly executed. It's probably better to have 3 or 4 solid, detailed modes rather than having 20 odd underdone modes.

Yeah, real sneaky, I hardly noticed you were there...

MS forcefully removes private chat from upcoming titles
From examiner.com:

Do you like to use the party chat option on your Xbox 360? Well, if you do, you may soon find yourself being forced out of using that option. Microsoft appears to be offering developers the option to negate the private chat option the Xbox 360 offers.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will force players to decide whether or not they'll play the game and join the game chat, or choose to stay in a private chat and not play in the multiplayer game. The private chat feature became a way of telling other players of enemy locations after being killed.
