First of all I like to say that GRAW 2 is one of the best first person shooter game I have ever played. I have been a Ghost Recon fan for many years. But do you agree that when switching your weapons take to long. I mean switching from assault rifle (sniper rifle)to side arm or grenade just take a long time. Also do you think GRAW 3 (hoping it will come out soon) will allow you to carry more then 1 main weapon? I mean I would like to care a sniper rifle and assault rifle (don't care to much about the side arm).

I think the way they have it laid out on the controller is a bit clumsy and could be done better to make it easier.

However, I think the amount of time for the animation is about right. You can't just instantly have another weapon or grenade in your hand. It takes time to access those and stow whatever you currently have in hand. I think the game animation accurately reflects that.

The problem is that just about every other video game does not accurately reflect it, making it seem long in GRAW2.

yeah I know about the delay. But to switch to side arm...come on. It shouldn't take that long. Also do you think we should be able to care 2 main weapons and drop side arm.

I think they should let us pick whatever we want in the lobby. Only restriction is weight.
So you could have a primary FAMAS and a secondary Zeus but very little ammo.

Or

You could have a primary SA80with 6 magazines and 6 fragmentation grenades.

Plus i think the time it takes to switch weapons is fine but it should take less time to switch to grenades. I dont need to sto my weapon to throw a grenade. Plus you should be able to move while throwing a grenade.

I agree that the reloading / changing weapons is slow but it does add to the realism . In real life a grenade wouldn't magically appear in your hand with the pin pulled for you to throw. I like the idea of being able to carry whatever weapons you like but I agree with Paladin that there should be a trade off. SOCOM 3 had a good system where you could carry more than one main weapon (eg rifle and AT Weapon) but this load out would slow you down. You should also be able to carry extra ammo for a main weapon at the expense of sidearm / grenades etc. That would be a nice addition to the next game . The only problem is guys would spend so long agonizing over the perfect loadout nobody would ever play the game ! Googly

I agree that it should only take a second to switch to a sidearm. How much time does it take to drop your primary on it's sling and draw your pistol? It's a practiced maneuver for when you don't have time to reload.

From having weapon at ready to reaching down and having secondary weapon at ready, seems to be about between 1 to 2 seconds.

Again, I think RSE did a great job with the animations and the timing on how long it takes to switch weapons. Problem lies with controller layout; it takes too long to actually use the layout to make your selection.

In regards to grenades, the other thing is that it does not take too long to get them out (animation wise), but everyone associates the time to actually RELEASE the grenade into that time. That is separate and due to the use of the meter to set how far you want to throw the frag. That adds a lot of time to getting the frag out of your hand.

Filling up the frag meter adds probably 2-3 seconds to the time to release.

There are some games currently out on the market that have pretty much everything you are asking for them to change in GR.

OK OK my bad on the special uniform stuff. But I would like to have 2 main weapons. I mean who here play as a sniper and rifleman. Everyone know that sniper are bad in close combat and rifleman can't zoom in close enough to get a head shot. So I wish the game will allow us to have to main weapons. Look I know about the load bearing that each soldier can carry, but if you are allow to pick and choose I think that would be better. Also let take a automatic vs a sniper...which one of these solider will be able to move faster?......Sniper...right. But in the game they both move at the same speed even though the sniper has less ammo to care. Now I know someone will say how about weapons weight...well a sniper rifle will be about 6 to 8 lbs and as for a automatic it will weight over 10lbs (I am not counting the 50cal sniper rifle). But no matter what, you sniper is still the lightest person. Do you agree?
