I know some of you guys are hardcore and hated GRAW, but GRAW is what brought me to the Ghost Recon series. I love the smooth gunfire with accurate bullet damage (minus whole shot to foot death). I have tried Socom, COD and they are trash compared to Ghost Recon.

I know the new Ghost Recon wont be GRAW, you guys say it will be better, like the old Ghost Recons.

My question is, will the bullet damage be realistic and smooth? Will there be any bogus parts? I never really played the old titles, I really want a smooth, decent graphic realistic military shooter and we have had nothing since GRAW 2. If GRAW was first person (on console) and had better graphics and some other improvements it would kick ***.

We have no idea what the new Ghost Recon game will be like because other than the name we have no information at all about it.

What's wrong with GRAW? I don't recall people hating it in these forums.

GRAW 1 sucked and GRAW 2 was close but no cigar. At least for PC it was. Console got all kinds of support and new maps.

I'm from the OGR days. I hope Predator stays true to the roots. They'll sell a jillion copies. Also UBI if you're listening: Dedicated server software is a must. Replays too.

I'm a PC gamer. Any comments I make that don't specifically state a platform you can bet I'm referring to PC.

These used to be the PC only forums. I'm speaking to those people. The rest of you are guests here. Welcome guests of course. Smile

GRAW and GRAW 2 were disliked by a very large portion of console Ghost Recon community. There's a reason the MP was nowhere near as played as much as the games before them.

Remember that Ghost Recon and Ghost Recon Island Thunder on the Xbox were very close ports of the PC originals.

Well, I thought that the GRAW 1 and 2 were great games, and I would like to hear from people who don't like it why they don't like it. I mean, I like Ghost Recon because theya re not just generic shooters like other games, there is a lot of tactics involved, which you often find with Tom Clancy games.

Ruggbutt you've just earned yourself a holiday, nice work

For the benefit of anyone in doubt these are the forums for both Console & PC, anyone else wishing to insult/ ridicule players based on their choice of platform will also find themselves on a holiday from the boards.

Ok I'll tell you why in my opinion why I feel GRAW 1 and GRAW 2 weren't as good as OGR-GRSS.

1. OTS with ability to switch shoulders made corner camping far too easy which resulted in stagnant gameplay.

2. Condensed maps with too many choke points ensuring that all players were directed to contact zones to increase action. This greatly reduced the replayability of each map.

3. Left trigger zoom automatically inducing slow walk with increased accuracy. This combined with points 1 and 2 made for a very boring and stagnant game. Reducing the 50+ metres kill range average of previous games to an average of less than 20 mmetres. Therefore turning a long-medium ranged shooter into a short ranged shooter.

4. Unrealistic accuracy. M107, need I say any more.

5. Slighty decreased bullet damage which allowed players to walk away from head and torso shots.

6. No penalities for being injured.

7. Lack of spawning options. Expecially in Siege.

8. Abysmal FPV option.

9. Incremental aiming.

10. Low number of maps at ship.

11. Segregated MP and SP.

Those I feel are the main points.

Plus nobody is saying Graw 1 and 2 are awful games, especailly compared to 90% of the other crap shooters out there. They're just saying they weren't as good as previous games.

I agree with most of the points above too. There should be choke points and non-choke points, but ubi just seems to have a one track mind when it comes to them. But that being said there is still always a way out.

And yes Bumpering and very very very unrealistic accuracy are two main issues with it. And the segragated MP and SP is kinda of dumb. Although I admit more is better, just should have had the sp co-op as well.

All and all not bad games and I prefer them to COD and any other shooter I have come across, just that they have been dumbed down a bit since the older ones.

Yeah I agree. GRAW and GRAW 2 weren't bad games. They were good games. They just weren't good Ghost Recon games. But thats just my opinion.

I'm hoping the next Recon is like it was in the old days, before GR2, only this time with the option to add a weapon on the screen for 1st person view. Not completely redo the traditional reticle view, leave that in, but allow the option to add a weapon to the screen(animated and fully functional of course) for those who don't like the reticle view.

I'm also hoping the Ghillie Suit will come back.

I'm also hoping they figure out how to compensate for the current lack of vegitation(grass) draw distance. It's an issue that plagues the new Flashpoint. Flashpoint actually reminds me of the original Ghost Recon in a way......maybe it's the slow paced nature of it, the methodical elements.......not knowing where the next bullet will come from. Hopefully we'll get to experience that style of gameplay in the next Recon. Not this run and gun bull honkey we have now with the GRAW's.
