There is a game in the works by a former RSE employee that will expand on the features of the original RSE games. When it will be released is unknown at this time though.

Ground Branch? Been waiting over 2 years for some sign that it will actually be released, nothing has come close to GR, had big hopes for this one.

Yeah I thought the guy doing Ground Branch got a new job and now that project is on the back burner.

Yes, he had to get a job. Developing a game isn't cheap and when you have to pay the costs yourself, it isn't easy. One expense, a motion capture system was a neccessary purchase so he didn't have to rent studio time somewhere. The animations that have been released recently are something that hasn't been seen in a game anywhere that I know of.

Check out the Dev movie - Animation, A short animation clip thread at BFS. The motion capture session used Hatcheforce, a former (and one time 5th Special Forces) Green Beret who at one time was hired as a consultant at RSE. Shame that they did not use his knowledge the way BFS is.

The closest thing I can recommend is Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. The multiplayer is buggy, but single player on Hardcore and even experienced feels very much like the original Ghost Recon. Other than that, we continue to wait as usual.
