Hey,

I love GRAW and the idea of different weapons that are relatively new, but not so new that there are lasers and photon beams. I also like the fact that the game gives you almost a third person view, which allows the player to have peripheral vision and allows the player to see what the soldier has on.

There are some things that I think could add on to the game though. What if you were able to customize your gun to the specifications you want. What I mean by that is if the weapon system has a rail interface system (standard on most assault rifles in the military today and tomorrow). Socom touches on it as well as Rainbow Six, but they limit you which takes away the realism. It should be made where your only limited by the amount of space on the weapon and weight of the weapon (e.g. M203 on the bottom of a MK-48 is retarded and outrageously heavy, and its not done for those reasons). Here is a good example of where im coming from:

A SCAR that has nothing on it. You put a fore grip on the bottom, then a laser, but move the laser back so the pressure pad for the laser is on the fore grip. A flashlight on the other side. Attach an EO Tech sight and also attach a gemtech silencer.

My next piece of advice for a game is the ability to customize the players equipment. GRAW lets you choose automatice rifleman, rifleman, grenadier and marksman, but you never get to change their plate carrier. Rainbow Six also covers this a little bit, but it seems like they got a six year old to come up with what he/she thinks the military uses. The vests in that game are retarded and there is no spec ops guy that wears any of those vests unless he's going to difuse a bomb. Make it where you first start off at the uniform (e.g. BDU's, T.R.U's, MARPAT, MultiCam so on). Then go to the web belt, where you get to select if you want a mag drop pouch and where (make it so thing like this will influece reloading time and silhouette) Then get to the plate carrier with M.O.L.L.E. on it so you can attach things like mag pouches and grenade pouches (influences how much ammo you carry). Then go into the face and hat and coms and so on, but make this stuff where it changes the dynamics of the player and his enviroment

Now forthe actual game. GRAW has done an OUTSTANDING job. For any of you in or going to be in the military, most of the fighting you do has wide open spaces and then very confined spaces. Rainbow Six and later versions of Socom confined the fighting quarters which is awesome for an arcade first person shooter, but for a person that wants more out of a game there is no way to be a sniper or to make long range shots or to make commands that are worthwhile. Make an enviroment where it reacts to the player and his/ her decisions (e.g. Bad Company used the software to make the enviroment destructive).

For once I want to feel that I am Special Forces that has the ability to make my own decisions on where to go, how to get there, what to use, and how to use it. There is not ONE game that has done this. I'm sorry that this post is so long, but its something that has bothered me now for a while and everytime a game comes out im disapointed. Lemme know if you like where this is going or dont or you have suggestions. I dont have the ability to design games but i always figured this is where it started... brainstorming.

Yes I agree, although a lot of peoples expectations are way too high for things like this.

Being able to choose who and what you use, and where, how, and when you use it is probably one of the most important things when it comes to single player.

As for multiplayer, it would be a lot harder to implement without either being too confusing or too unfair. I have said before that I love customisation but HATE it when it makes the game unfair or just silly.

Ghost Recon has always been one of the most customisable and to a degree user friendly games available. R6 has upgrades but these are mostly trivial and COD has perks but these are really over-the-top. Sensible and simple yet useful specialisations/upgrades would be very nice indeed.

Maybe we could suggest some, if only to entertain ourselves. Make sure they stick to the sensible-simple-useful ideals.

I'll make some dodgy examples. A few possible things for a sniper class could be-
Silent Assassin: Marksman has access to silencers for all sniper rifles.
One in the Chamber: Marksman gains 1 extra bullet per load.
Ghost: Marksman acquires the ghillie suit.

These are a bit stupid but who cares, it's just for fun.

Cpt. Mitchell says "I'm a Ghost", as explosions go off all around and he runs over a bridge and fights a tank with an LMG...
Yeah, real sneaky, I hardly noticed you were there...
