Question:
If you had to guess when the new Ghost Recon console title ships, what would your best guess be?

Here's to hoping it goes back to it's GR1/GR2 (Xbox) roots.

Choices:
2009 - Late Q4 (December-ish)
Early 2010
Late 2010
Not before the next-generation is here (we'll have to to wait for Xbox "720")

I just want a revamped OGR with better graphics and thats it.

I think late spring/early summer 09 should be an option as well.

If it were due for a March 09 release then we would need to hear about it very soon. A game as big as Ghost Recon 4 would need at least 6 months PR/Hypre time.

there wont be any announcement till after atleast endwar is out for a couple of weeks. and maybe not till after hawx is out. they dont want to take aways from current releses.
also they dont want to announce too early because hype could dye down after several months. there trying to time it right.
ubi will keep making a game till they feal it will not make money.

Well that's kind of sad.. I was hoping that it was just that there was nothing in development that they had announced... So if not GR, what is RSE working on?

Well, I am glad in a way that my poor old series can now rest in peice. This constant butchering of my beloved has gone long enoughand I hope to never see a new game unless it parallels the classic. I am sick of paying full price for half a gamethen paying a third or more in price for each DLC.

I will gladly play the current games but for the sake of this serious I hope it ends with GRAW 2, the worst thing ever to happen to Ghost Recon.

i agree with you paladin , although we're probly gonna be waiting a whole eternity for a new ghost recon game as splinter cell conviction has ultimatly proven , there is no way ubi will stop bringing out gr titles , after all they have just payed millions for the franchise , its highly unlikely they're gonna forget about it , just because a new has not been announced it doesnt mean to say that there wont be one , i think in recent months ubi have shown that comunication with the industry and fans is not there best port of call right now

What communication LOL. There is no other company in the entire games industry with such a lack of communication between itself and its community.

Remember Ubisoft that your reputation was built on the strength of your online communities. Many good games come out with good multiplayer components and don't have half the lifespan some of your recent games have had despite their brokeness and lack of quality. Thats because of the strong communities that built up around earlier games in the franchises, back when Ubisoft cared about their online communities and didnt run everything according to market forces.

ATM the only reason I can see that we arent hearing about a new Ghost Recon is that they think it will stop people from buying Endwar or Far Cry 2. Thats how deluded and detatched the higher echelons of the Ubisoft Corporation are from the gaming community.

Thats better. Sorry for being anal but the lack of information forthcoming from Ubi is getting beyond ridiculous and is becoming frankly insulting at this point to the Ghost Recon hardcore fanbase.

This year Ubisoft has some really big games coming out, so we do tend to focus around those games coming out in the near future and once they have arrived, then we can start looking at our future products. With Prince of Persia, Far Cry 2, EndWar, Shaun White etc, all out this year, running off to start hyping up new games would not really gives these titles the justice they deserve.

At this exact point in time I have not heard that another Ghost Recon game is in development. If you look at it logically, it would be silly to abandon the GR franchise after GRAW 2 but at this time nothing have been announced about any continuation of the Ghost Recon games.

So how is saying "Graw 3 or Ghost Recon 4, whatever it's going to be, is in development" Gonna take away from any hype from any of those games????

I get what you're trying to say but still that logic is a bit silly, for lack of a better term.

Many other game companies have many other games coming next year and they still drop tidbits about other games further down the line and heck it's been almost 2 friggin years. If Call of Crap can have a new one out every year then I think the least we can get is something saying it's coming.

Unless these games that your talking about, End War, Prince of Persia, etc, really suck and need all the hype they can get. Then it is kind of pointless to say we can't mention anything on new games because these game still need hype. 90% of the people who buy those games are gonna buy them whether you hype the crap out of them or not.

So that excuse is very very very flimsy. Just goes to show that ubi really really needs to fire their stupid *** pr department and get a much better one.

I know it has nothing to do with you, just stating my opinion, that ubi as a whole is stupid when it comes to releasing any info on games.

I have no idea on when the next Ghost Recon will be coming out or at the least be mentioned.

The way I see it is the longer they wait with info the more it will hurt them. They will have to be competing with Operation Flash Point 2: Dragon Rising, ArmA2, and Rouge Warrior (spelling?). Well ArmA2 and OF2 is coming out in the Q1 2009 and have been doing some serious promoting of the games and will be hard to grab some of the people that are buying one of those games because of the lack of info.
