You know ala COD4 and Halo 3?

Now I know people that like to host custom games and there is nothing wrong with that.

Why not have the best of both worlds?

Or hell just let us join while the game is in progress.

Waiting 10-15 minutes for a game to be done in order to play is dumb.
1. the host never starts the game
2. The host starts the game and it shows 1 of 2 messages server disconnected or room is no longer in session 1-2 minutes after the game finally starts.

It's enough for a long time fan of Ghost Recon series to Throw the disc aside and play Halo 3 or COD4 because IT IS STUPID EASY TO JUST PICK UP AND ACUALLY PLAY THE FRIGGIN GAME.
And start up the game rooms.
End rant

I don't want to go search for a random room like a wild Animal, only to have the host quit whenever the **** they want or never starts the game.
Wait 10 minutes and play 1 minute oh boy!!!
Disgusting.
now lets hope Ubi or Red Storm catches on and have a COD4 party system in place for GRAW3.

A while back there was a huge discussion about this.
Redstorm Developers here are 5 things that must be
Besides other threads on the subject. I would suggest playing with friends who have the same goal in mind as you.

Screw that. It's good, like you said, if you jsut want to pick up and play. But I'd much rather see who's hosting the room before I jump in. Plus if you have alot of friends in the game, it's not hard at all to find a room.

tbh the new cod4 update has ruined the lobby, because they have made it so that the host is chosen at random if the original host leaves, so now all u get is hosted ended season all the time because no one can afford a good connect so it ends the game all the time.

ghost recon lobbys are better.

I prefer the way GR handles the lobby. I prefer being able to join my friends so they don't have to hop out of a room in order to pick me up. I prefer being able to have a whole room of only my friends and not be limited to some number of players like COD4.

If you want to make sure your friends get in, make a private room. Its really pretty easy if you use some common sense.

Plus if you really look at it, with matchmaking you can end up waiting five minutes easy in between matches just searching for one. With a hosted room you can just launch the game once everyones ready.
I think you end up waiting longer in matchmaking.

GRAW2 definetly needs something similar as COD4's matchmaking, it's one of the main reasons(apart from Hardcore and FPWV) why i stick with playing COD4 for multiplayer. Matchmaking is zero waiting time, a big plus.

I prefer playing with friends against other groups(friends, clans or randoms). It's like playing clan matches without all the gamebattles/MLG scoring bullsh*t but with all the tension, teamwork and strategies you get with clan matches.

With COD 4 you can also host private matches wich is pretty much the same as what we have in GRAW2 but i find playing against friends pretty boring.

I think the biggest problem i have with GRAW2 here is that you can't join as a whole group. SO maybe matchmaking itself is not what i'm looking for but just the ability having a party and who ever hosts the party will pick a server from the list.

Wouldn't something like this make more sense for a team-based tactical shooter?

You know ala ala get the hala out of here with that.

Games work best with Matchmaking some games don't.

For a game like Ghost Recon there is no need for one due to the nature of the game and the players.

Is it so hard or not worth it to actually search lobbies for rooms and go in and out as you choose or... I can go on but my point is that matchmaking is for certain games and not for others.

Having too much data, taking up space, that matchmaking code may cause more to the congestion and disconnect lag than it is already. If they fix it cool.

I personally would like to see a Matchmaking System, along with some dedicated servers, so that games aren't based on the quality of the host's internet connection...

i do like the jump in feature but i like the hosting session the way it is one thing about getting in a room where you wait is if the host comes out of the game to pick a person up they are usually gone and it is frustrating because then you have to start all over again that's why nobody comes out to pick anybody up.

Keep the lobby system as it is. Having control over the whole room and being able to pick which one to join is so much better than the matchmaking system.

I don't want to be spoon fed maps and options. If people want it, just add a party system to the quick match feature, but leave the rest alone.
