My few cents worth...
The auto-reloading. Add it, but let us turn it off. If you don't check your weapon, reload after contact, that's your problem (if you wish to play a tactical simulator) Stepping out of cover and all you hear is a dry fire. Well, then you're dead. Give the enemy this ability too. Let them run out of ammo, let their weapons dry fire, jam, etc. Actually, a random, but very infrequant stoppage might add something. We'd drop the a knee, and tap reload. A chimney stoppage takes mere fractions of a second to clear. Add a bit of uncertainty. Maybe allow this to be turned off in options too for single player. Take a page from F.E.A.R Those shoot-outs, while more John Woo style. All that debris flyig about. If I'm lying prone behind cover, let the dust kicked up by large calibre rounds be a hinderance. Let light (or shadows) work for us. Anyone noticed a bit of silence if you grab an AR from a fallen enemy that has a tac light? Unless I'm mistaken here, but no one seemed to notice. A good balance of urban and open combat. My favourite GR level is still from the original series. I think it was Ghost Town. Large open area, shanty town, buildings for house penetration, and large armour. In co-op, one guy was overwatch, and would cover as the rest moved through the town to get those hiding. Playing mission 1 of GRAW2 solo in co-op. There were some hairy moment moving between the vehicles on the bridge (only play in hardcore mode) Make it real (well, baring in mind it's a tactical sim, and a game) I've used GRAW to illustrage tactics for real life scenarios too. Let the enemy retreat, regroup, call for help, or plain give up. Maybe some rules of engagement there? Shoot a hostage, shoot someoe who's surrendered, and you're in trouble? A la SWAT? Realistic bullet penetration, bullet drop, ballistics. Second the poster on hits. Take a tumble when caught in the leg (don't do a 'all controls disabled' though) Let us fire, chances are it'd miss. Working cover fire. If I'm behind cover, and they're storming me, and I'm low on ammo, firing a few shots up in the air from the pistol should be enough to make them stop and take cover, not walk round to see if I need refill on my coffee. And make the pistol a worthy weapon. I've seen some amazing shots taken with just a 9mm in the real world. At least don't make it a {quote} pop gun {/quote} Mods, sure. I'm not big on them, just well designed additional maps, but if it keeps the game alive, release a map editor, and the api for scripting. (I still play Half Life 1) There endeth my few cents... |

like some guys here already said bring back Red Storm Entertainment they worked together with the UBI team for so long and they made a decent game with the GR series and R6 franchise.
ow what i'd also liked to see is the International Camouflage like in GR1 MP (flecktarn and DPM etc.) |

And what happened to interactive cover in the environment? I'm positive I read that I if we were behind say a car, that we'd be able to pull the door open to provide a bit more cover? Or, let us open a shutter, kick a barrel, open a door, something for a bit extra.

NEXT GRAW
My thoughts are that you should obviously keep the advanced setting and cross-com in the game, but also enhance the sqaud commands. I also think you should extend the single player campaign and add more exciting events in it. You should also make teamwork important in the game. You should also give the game a darker tone and keep the third person camera. You should make cover more destructive and bullets more penetrative. Another thing you should do is improve the cover system and also let the player customize their weapons, like being able to put led tracers on their bullets for night missions. Another thing you should do is give the player more maneuvers to do,trust me thats important. The enemy AI in the game should also be more divers. The most important thing that you should do of course is make make the game on pc and xbox360. |

AT THE FIRST DEAR GRAW TEAM: Think about it, why there are only a couple of users in multiplayer, why there are only few servers in multiplayer? Why peoples are boring ?
If there will be a next similar game to GRAW2 - U MUST CREATE a COPLETE map editor or mission editor for next game. Many of users want to create their own maps but they can't. Why? 1. There is no official editor (only with development files) 2. It's to difficult for normal users (look on Q3Radiant - it's easy and clear AND HAVE a interface!) So I think (when reading other community forums and clan sites) that your players are BORRED of standard maps, they want something else. There are only few peoples who create custom maps but it's not enough. What do you think about it? (sorry for my broken eng)

Just let it go. I can't believe that you still hold out any hope that there will be any future support for what has been a disastrous game both in terms of the number of people who bought it the way it plays. Many of us realised this when the first GRAW came out - that this entire project was rushed to market just to grab a quick buck. Remember when the first GRAW was released? It was delivered in downloadable stages because it wasn't all completed? What does that tell you? Not a clear enough message it seems. We tried to tell you, you the Grin believers, that the entire game sucked from release. But no, you banned us from your forums for our constant whining, you stuck your fingers in your ears and shouted "La-la-la-la-la! Grin will sort it all out for us! It'll all be fine because Grin visit the forums. They're our buddies!" So what have you ended up with? A shadow of what the Original Ghost Recon was and which nobody plays. Good work, Grin! Hindsight is wonderful – but I don't need it because I was right at the time. |

It looks like you missed the point of this thread and especially the post you just quoted. GRIN has moved on and is working on other projects now.
What is being said is that there is no GR games being worked on, that anyone knows about. Who cares about GRAW and GRAW2? I don't as I do not even own GRAW2 nor have I played GRAW. Who knows what the future for the GR franchise is. I look forward to games from another studio that advances the early work from a previously ground breaking studio now owned by Ubi. You picked the wrong admin to single out for this Ollie...WK has never been aboard the GR:AW* bandwagon, and with good reason - he saw what was in store for us first hand, and before it was released. ____ Replying to: Community Ideas for the Next GR How about a comprehensive manual, complete with pictures, for the next title(That's for you Ollie Free Oliver_Reed! ____ "Something wicked this way comes" |

Well, first of all I would like to say I disagree with WhiteKnight. Advanced Warfighter was very cool. But I'm talking about 1 and not 2.
Anyway, The next GR should have to do something with Europe or maybe China. We've had the Russians (GR 1),Africans (Desert Storm), Cubans (Island Thunder), North Korean (GR 2) and Mexico (GR:AW 1&2). I've seen Voice Control is possible so let's throw it in too. Make sure it's not able to mod. Instead, make sure the people don't need to. Let them be able to create there own clothing and armor style like in Rainbow Six. Make enough multiplayer variants and make sure there is a large number of weapons to choose from. Get a grip on the AI. AI in GRAW 1 was pretty good. Mix it up with the cover system from Rainbow and you've got a good battle. Battlefields: Don't let us fight in Urban only. I like sneaking in the forrest with a Ghillie suit. (also something they should put in the next GR, GHUILIE SUITES GUYS!! DON'T FORGET!). Make it possible to have a large battle at some moments. Not just 6 guys running around in total but like 30 and let tanks crush trough bushes and rivers. Gives the feeling of a battlefield. Do NOT make it a 3rd person shooter! The origional GR was supposed to make it feel YOU were the soldier. 3rd person gives me the feeling like I'm in control of a wannabe-hi tech-rambo. Crosscom and Narcom were nice But some briefing BEFORE heading out to the battlefield would be better. Narcom for quick updates only. Keep the amazing graphigs from GRAW1! I want to be able to count the bricks in a wall. (not that I'm actualy going to) But make the grass textures better and make sure that IF there's going to be a ghillie suit in the game, it matches the grass. I hate it when I can detect player profiles from a distance (CoD4!!, BF2!!). COVERING SYSTEM! VERY IMPORTANT! leaning around corners doesn't really work... it's nice and a good solution but I miss the idea of GOOD cover. Weapons effects and recoil were nice. Grenade explosions were awesome (all in GRAW 1!) Keep at it That's how I would like the next GR to be. |

You're talking out of context. WhiteKnight was talking about GRAW 1 for PC. Both GRAW games were completely different on the PC version than the console counterparts. Even the storyline was completely different. Levels were different, and there was NO COVERING SYSTEM. (Leaning only) -+-+_ |

As we are all aware, our opinions don't really influence the decisions being made about the games because there is so much more gamemakers have to consider than what we have to say about possible improvements here and now. But it is still possible for them to beat the odds and surprise us with a new, ultimate Ghost Recon that will raise the bars so high that it will not be beaten in any way, by any other tac-sim for years to come.
They owe this to us fans of the Ghost Recon title. So whoever, if anyone, actually reads these comments that can be of any REAL influence to the creation of the game, here are my personal suggestions: 1 - The idea of civilians in urban areas is very tempting. It would certainly add to the gameplay as it would at least raise a new challenge of distinguising targets. 2 - There HAS TO be a lot more environmental freedom in the game such as doors that open, ladders to climb, etc. We must be able to navigate every single square inch possible on the mission maps, and this should also involve enemies hidden behind those doors that open, flanks, etc. 3 - I was personally disappointed to find out that we couldn't choose between 1st and 3rd person in the PC version of GRAW. That would be a great option a next game. 4 - Graphics is one of the main factors that make or break the games. So I disagree with those of us who choose gameplay over graphics. I think they're equally important for the realism that everyone is wishing for. 5 - A longer single player campaign than GRAW 2 must be one of the top priorities. 6 - I also disagree with bringing back the original Ghost Recon. Perhaps GRAW 1 and 2 have both been disappointments in some ways, but with the right improvements the Advanced Warfighter concept would certainly beat the original. 7 - Although I thought Mexico made a unique story, it wasn't very creative, nor was it realistic enough. It is now time for the Advanced Warfighters to leave home. I have Europe in mind for a setting. If the next game ends up being in the Far East, Russia or Africa, I will probably end up not buying it. 8 - The AI also needs improvements, both on the enemy side and on the ally side. Especially the enemy's reactions can get very predictable and silly. The enemies need lots of unpredictability for the infantry experience to be more realistic. 9 - Finally (as someone mentioned earlier), more human-like hit reactions would add lots of value to the whole package. For example, if you shoot the enemy in the leg, he shouldn't die. And our characters shouldn't have more hitpoints than any of the enemy, which is what Ghost Recon is all about anyway. No matter how difficult that would make the game, we should only be superior to the enemy in terms of weaponry, armor, and tactic development because we play 'advanced' warfighters, not super-human warfighters. Everything said, I hope our ideas are actually being seriously considered. Thanks for reading. |

Plain and simple. Take the OGR and bump up the graphics, add maps, clean up bugs such as peeks, cheats, etc. Oh and use something where we can chat in a lobby before entering games. That was huge with OGR. We need to be able to communicate. Bottom line is if you don't allow us to communicate then there won't be much of a community.

Good Lord wake up Ubisoft. Your games are boring. Open space and full movement are the norm today. Rainbow six and GRAW suck. No junping no usable environment, just the same old crap. The only way to play these games is to remember in rote where each AI is, because the second you poke your head out they are shooting at you. And as for your squad, what a pain in the *** they are. Their constant shooting is irksome. I didn't buy Vegas2 and I won't be getting anymore GRAW titles either until they evolve to what were playing on today's machines.

That wasn't nice to say Th1ngr1z.
GRAW 1 was awesome and so is Vegas 2. It's a lot but not boring. If you don't like their games you can say it in a way that is less agressive. |
