Hello to everyone. I'm new to this and all... I just wanted to put down some thoughts.

Do you think that this game will use the same engine as AC just like that new snowboarding game (the name has slipped my mind)?

I'm sure someone has probably noticed this but, the people that Adam fight in the trailer look to be like his friends from work.

There seems to be a point to the water in the trailer. Maybe Adam will need water or maybe you need it to help clean cuts. This will also affect how you think. Do you scale up that fallen building or wait a day and look for water before starting for fear you would pass out before you make it over.

With the water thing in mind, do you think you will become dehydrated outside in the sun faster then opposed to if you only went outside at night.

If you need to gather a store water to live, then, do you also need to gather food?

Do you think they will be a weather system and a day an night cycle?

With all the debris, I think Adam will be a little athletic like Altair (I think thats how you spell it) in order to get around most obstacles.

Its kinda late and thats all I can think off... I will update this post if I think of more.

Edit: I was looking on Kotaku and I saw that this game is a survival horror. What that makes me think of is more like supernatural enemies and things like that. I mean I do know how scary co-workers are but this branding still makes me think... Link: Kotaku

Edit: I was also thinking of the link to this and Cloverfield. The only thing is that the monster in Cloverfield came from a salt water ocean to a fresh water lake. Another thing is why did the ground break? From what I remember in Cloverfield, the beast never went underground. I will look around and see if J.J. Abrams might have teased anything.

Edit: Will this game be more like Bioshock? Will this show the isolation of a person in light of a terrible conflict/ disaster?

I'm really looking forward to this game. I think it might be something similar to Zettai Zetsumei Toshi (絶体絶命都市) for the PS2, which I thought was a good game. Ubi will make a better version of it with a great storyline and amazing visuals. Zettai Zetsumei Toshi didn't have supernatural monsters or aliens and I liked the realism of it. I think Ubi will do this one right and it will be awesome.

I think water will be used to maintain stamina/energy. You will probably get it from clean taps or broken fountains and maybe fight off others who are scrambling for precious water. I'm guessing you would have to find bottles and then you can put water in them to take with you but only have a limited amount of things you can carry. So you would have to find a backpack, etc. I think the gameplay will be a lot like Zettai Zetsumei Toshi but with a ton of improvements and more features.

I have said this before on one of these but i will say it again anyhow. I kind of hope this doesn't turn out to be survival horror. there are loads of horror games out and about at the minute and with resi 5 AND Fallout 3 on the way they will take some beating. I think a good action /strategy would be great and would break the charts. especially if it has half the ideas people are coming up with on here. if i were making a game this is where i would do my research. there's some true gamers on here!

I think the idea of searching and collecting everyday items that in a survival situation would be pretty valuable sounds great it hasn't been done yet on the scale people are suggesting on here. it would be a mind blowing game. I especially like the idea of having to find somewhere to camp for the night safe and warm. there's so much potential here for a legendary game. i just hope it doesn't turn into "just another horror game"

Agreed, Gary 141. But Ubisoft has announced this game as 'survival'. I've only seen the word 'horror' on places that intend to sell the game, who more often than not don't know anything about the product.

Heh. I like the idea of a terrorist attack on a massive scale, but an earthquake would almost be as epic... and, either way, you haved crazed-up psychos to deal with. XD

I'm soooo excited about this game - just having a browse today and this is the first time I've seen it. I think the disaster side and survival side of it will be a bit like the stand. I can see why people are saying it reminds them of I am Legend but I'm hoping they take it on a different tilt from the 'just another horror game' like Gary141 said!

I see it as a post-apocaliptic adventure game.
Maybe a few horror elements (mutated life near some underground super secret bases >.> )
And, yeah, it needs a Day'n'Night cycle, otherwise it would be boring!
Of course some side-quests from local civilians (go get my baby from that house Adam, please? I have cookies...) or some sort of secondary missions (you can find some items that make your gaming life easier, like a flashlight or a city guide). Big Grin

Also it must have an awesome-tastic psychics engine, otherwise what? Every bloody disaster would be scripted? No thanks.

Maybe a few 'RPG' elements? (Food, water, climbing (aka stamina) etc) But not too many.
Otherwise it would be an Oblivion mod. Shady

Though real-time interaction with the gaming world are nice, scripted events shouldn't be cut for sure.
Imagine a big plane crash two streets away from you, NPC's running in fear, random homeless person kicking each other asses for a last hotdog will create a good atmosphere Big Grin
But don't over-do it! i.e. beggars from AC... Angry Blue Guy

Motorbikes? 50/50 chance it would fit that type of situation. No, wait, bad idea. Shady
Scrap motorbikes! I want a crazy taxi cab driver! Googly

...

Meh, just kidding Razz

I only just discovered this game and had a look through the trailer a couple of times. I also looked back through to see if the enemies at the first scene where one of the guys that walked past him in the street, i was right. This made me think that maybe it will be primarily about survival by taking water and food. I think your enemies will be other humans that need water and food to survive also but maybe their is something more and i hope there is. I still don't know weather to think the disaster on the second part is from an attack from maybe another human being? or from an alien lifeform? or maybe just an act of god? But what is interesting and makes me wonder if this is related to i am legend is what has happened to the rest of the world? surely it just cant be the people of chicago left because someone would have come to rescue them by now. It is defiantly about survival and i think you will need to use your surroundings like in the trailer with the glass to hide and dispose of other people. I think this game looks a bit and will maybe use the same format as Dead Rising. The fact that you can explore the world around you and be able to interact with most items and be able to smash shop windows to look for food and water. Also i think there will be people setting up camps and holding off there own sections of the map like in dead rising. Would like to get some feedback.

I think it would be cool if not only chicago was affected. (Like FuzzUK said, thats why no one has come and rescued them)
This would also lead up to a good sequel... like in another city (San Diego, New York, San Francisco?). But I dont really care to much how the game is going to be as long as it isnt a horror with zombies aliens and that type of stuff. thats lame and boring to me.

It would probably be hard to get around the city though if at one point you escape the city then it would be good to have a motorbike.
