Right when it goes to the flashback six days earlier, there's a bridge in the background. There's a banner hanging from it that says, "www.ruaumoko.com". I tried going to the site, but it's currently inactive. Possible viral site?
Apparently in MÄori mythology Ruaumoko is the god of earthquakes, so it could possibly be a supernatural force that caused the seismic activity. But since it is ruaumoko.com, I would bet that it is actually some kind of company that maybe uses a technology that causes the earthquakes. Just like it is in that terrible movie "The Core".
Pure speculation, and that's the point. They are obviously going for a JJ Abrams style viral campaign here.
That domain is owned by UbiSoft Entertainment ( http://whois.domaintools.com/ruaumoko.com ), so yes, I believe that will be the game webpage or something like that.
This reminds me of Assassin's Creed. Perhaps this will be just as mysterious. And when I say mysterious I mean epicly weird. But in a cool kind of way, if you know what I mean.
