Earth Temple v1.2 has been used on my servers for a bit now and after a few adjustments its ready for publicizing
The map is a medium sized 99% symmetrical map designed with team modes in mind but also good for a less chaotic DM match. (not slow, just not complete madness) It seems to play well with 8+ players on either Team modes or DM. Anyway, a picture is worth a thousand words and I've had a long day so here are some screens |

This map is tense, there are a lot of corners at strange angles. There are big bushes in your face all the time. Lots of surprise attacks.

Im not on my home pc atm so i cant check the final but the guys i play with have been hosting this for a while kev. Plays decent(i like to hide in the plant boxes in the middle and hover underneath the structures on the sides) one issue we did find was that you could get up on the walls and near each end there was a triangle section of wall you could fall into and not get out. On a few occasions i was called on from randoms to help them out. In which i was forced to go behind enemy lines, find my teammates and cap their sorry a$$es

Thanks for the replies guys, I have been really busy lately and I dont have much time for the forums right now
I did see that some savvy players found the way to get on top of the walls, and I left it in after the first two updates since I really get annoyed by mappers who constantly update their maps. It disturbs rotations and basically stops servers who are running the map if admin is not present. I just found the triangular hole last night in a full tour of the wall tops, and I do realize I have to at least patch up those holes if not completely deny access to the wall tops, since it was not intended to be a playable area anyway. I did build it with odd angles intentionally, to create more of a tense playing map as opposed to just running and blasting mindlessly, which is my usual style. The bushes are a form of cover but obviously once youve been spotted you cant stay safe from the bullets just hiding in a bush. Personally I dont get surprised any more often than my other maps but that makes sense because I built it I will update the wall situation this weekend and post when I do, as well as leave the old version (may not even be able to delete it now) so as not to disturb the flow of a server running strong. As for the generic look, well kind of, yes. That was dont to offset the amount of shadows cast by the foliage and trees to keep perfornamce excellent for most PC's. The walls are custom and I have not seen anything like them yet, but they are not like 'wow how did he do that' intentionally as well. Afetr I fix the wall prob, I will post some more screens of the overall layout and some more of the areas I missed the first time around. Again, thanks for the feedback, it is always welcome. |

just curious how u go when you upload 2 versions of the same map, this always seems to cause issues from the ppl i talk to. I wish the map system would allow you to update/replace a map while keeping stats and allowing other hosts to auto-download with everyone else if its changed.
Oh and when i got on the wall the 1st time i saw the bit you couldn't get out and made sure i didn't fall in. I figured you'd have to be an idiot to fall in there. I guess if you want you could leave it in as an idiot trap. With a full server we may even get enough idiots to form a human pyramid and get themselves out This message has been edited.
