Awesome! When played right, that combination is deadly. You are safe on the upper story if you are pushed up against the front wall and you can always slide out the blast hole on the front, but you are pretty much immobalized while you are up there because there are so many bullets flying around. If you wanna leave when the explosions are going off you must compromize your health.

Separately, I wanted to thank you for such a positive vocal opinion about our maps. We are glad to have your enthusiazm! Feel free to share your tips, tricks, and stories about any of our maps.

Awesome! What is your favorite mode to play the map on? I really enjoy Uprising even though it doesn't get too much attention from the community. I have mixed feelings about why but that is for another thread. I always design my maps with the game modes thought of as tutorials.

Uprising tends to be my Map Navigation 101 tutorial (Basics). The players will become very familiar with a number of important paths after playing in that mode. Then Diamond is a second Tier Course. You have to find ways to get from one end to the other with is much easier with Uprising experience to give you that edge. Finally advanced Navigation and Tactics would be for the Team and Solo Deathmatch Modes.

Have you observed different tactics working better in different modes. If so, please share.

Thank you for posting and showing your support.

I am sure that most Mappers would agree with me when I say that a 5 star rating after a game goes a long way but the type of player that checks out a map and makes the effort to come and say 'good job' on the forums, really motivates us!

I am so glad you liked the map. I have yet to check out your observatory map but will do in time.

You should check out a map published by iNF3C71ON called [360] REVOLVER REVOLU71ON if you liked O i l A r s e n i c and [360] SR Serpent Alley. iNF3C71ON and I are actually working on another new one that we expect to take any level of gameplay and emersion we have created before to an even higher level. I am excited to see you post, more excited to see your maps, and almost speechless with enthusiasm for our next collaborative map.

This is one of the maps that i host on a regular basis and everytime i play on it i just enjoy it more and more. I wasnt really a fan of playing CTD until i played it on Oil Arsenic.

A great map guys, Some awesome use of objects and Awesome layout. When i play this map i want the match to last longer unlike most other maps i play i want them to end.

Great work

Not much I can say about this one that hasn't already been said. Very rarely can anyone, or a group of people, pull off a desert map. The very nature of the desert environment tends to be bad for FPS games. However, it seems as though you guys pulled it off. Well done!

We owe you a thousand thank yous. It is always nice when a mapper that the community (and all of us) respects gives us their thoughts about our work, and even better when it is all good.

Separately, iNF3C71ON and I have been hard at work on our next project which has been struggling for us because of those same desert level issues. We are affectively embracing the challenge and are genuinely excited and refreshed by how things are shaping up.

O i l A r s e n i c is one of my favorite maps that I have worked on but may soon have an easy contender. Again, we appreciate the attention of other mappers and players, especially you, and love to find that you are a fan of the map.

I think INF3C71ON said it best when saying,
“I cant describe in words how honored I am to be apart of Oil Arsenic. To see that it has made MOTM makes me immensely proud.

I really want everyone who was involved in choosing the MOTM to know that choosing this map has made the Oil Arsenic team very proud.”

Before all this, I was amazed to see how dedicated the team at FCMaps.net has been to the casual and loyal FarCry Fans out there. Now after, for me personally it is a great honor because of the impression that I see they have over so many other players being, in some cases, even more influential then the Ubisoft forums. They create a voice for mappers that wouldn’t otherwise have one. Thank you for amplifying my voice by showcasing the O i l A r s e n i c Team with the June ’09 MOTM Award.

I too, am beyond words in describing my gratitude to the collective that made this dream come true. I have mentioned in the past, mappers patience being tested by the time it takes to bring all these things together. None of us are strangers to the idea of what it takes. We all try so hard and without many of those before me, EROCK, and INF3c71ON, we wouldn’t have had the relationships, experiences, or knowledge to make this happen. The respect I have for all of you is larger then July 2nd, further then a blog or thread post, and certainly beyond the words I exchange with my friends, family, and colleagues daily.

Thank you FCMaps.net, the group that made the votes, and any others that helped, especially inhumansolid for the wonderful write up and Mis7aPapzD3A7H for the epic video. Three others I would like thank are fates silence and DeathChild, and Danknuggs2 for their continued interest in us and their dedication while helping us test every inch of our levels.

Hopefully, those originally skeptic can recognize the irony of what I meant in the first post of this thread when I said,
“Less then a week from the initial conversation and the map was ready to play for a select few experts that could give us serious feedback on what they hated. After more Salt then the Lake City flats we went back to the drawing board. When it was time for release again, we all gave it one last look and agreed, Winner!”

Thank you! bow

I know! MPD did an excellent job of editing this one together. I am beside myself every time I watch it. My favorite shot is of a character running at night near the windmill as an ammo crate is blowing up to the right just off camera and a nice big beefy rocket comes charging through the shot. I think what grabs me the most about it is the contrast of the glowing reds and yellows trailed by the smoke as it slices through the deep dark air. Very moody! I love it.

Pretty sick locations, huh!? Too Happy

I love sniping people from Anvil Mountain but I always forget to watch the trucks and inevitably get blown to smithereens.
