In My opinion... calm down guys. We don't need the arguing. Someone is wrong, and someone is right. We all know that. No need to fight to the death.
Anyway... Map theives. In my opinion there are two types of map theives. Though this is based offof people who have stole my own maps. 1. There are the guys who thought your map was really cool, and they really liked it, and wanted to claim it as theirs. Though if you confront them, they'll remove it. They may even ask you to help them to improve their mapping skills by offering judgement. 2. There are the stupid pricks who steal your map, and when you confront them about it, the y go and call you a fag, and scream loud things into the mic, and are extremely rude. I hate these people. Now, I don't search my maps regularily to see who copied them. No. I'm not insane. Though occasionally you take a look out of curiosity to see. So... sometimes I ask people why they did it, and offer help. |

I have discovered one of two things. Maybe more but I just woke up with a profound thought.
 My maps either [A] suck really bad so no one wants to steal them. or [B] are so ridiculously good that no one can think of anything to change. Because I haven’t been the victim of map thievery, yet.  I did have one guy offer some constructive criticism on the original 'Suicide Heights' and he was so very right about the change I republished. Thanks, MR WANA GO!  Ok, so maybe it is neither, but I am still hopeful/excited for the day someone steals my map. Congrats to everyone that got ripped off! I love criticism and believe it is the only way to get better. You can tell me you think my maps are bad but offer me a solution when you tell me something that needs to be changed. Please, also respect that I can decline the suggestion as they are my maps  [360] Permission to Pass for example had so much feedback that I had trouble deciding what to do until I sat down and asked myself, what was really important, how I wanted it to play, and what would really make it 'better'. I threw out almost every suggestion that was given and came up with something very different then my alpha. I remember hearing one or two mappers voice some concerns but it wasn't because I didn't understand where the other mappers were coming from, or what thier ideas were. I just had something else in mind. There is a mutual respect and they were plesantly surprized when I published.You are right, there was a time when you would be more vocal about what you didn't like, and it is true that I was often doing those things on purpose to provide something different in each one of my maps. In the future, please don't hesitate to mention something if you feel strongly that my map would be improved by your suggestion. Of course it often boils down to opinion and decision but I have a pretty open mind and you have certainly proven yourself to the community.  Since I will be making some of my maps for the PS3 like I had done with [360 & PS3] Serpent Alley now would be a great time to mention what you like or don't like (in thier respective threads) while those remakes are still in BETA. You never know, it may be golden like MR WANA GO 's suggestion was and I might have no other choice then to make it better. Maybe I will have better luck becoming the victim of thievery when I start putting more maps out on the PS3? And second of all you want to talk about wearing the pants in a relationship, MIkk sure has been doing all the talking for you, whose wearing the pants? And as far as the apology, you'll be waiting a lifetime for that to happen. Everyones entitled to their opinion, and can accuse whoever they want, with just cause. |

Once a liar always a liar Raven. I'm actually making a list of ideas you stole from others and will be posting it very soon. And it will be an extensive list. No Raven, Mine and Chipmunks original posts in this thread were general with no names mentioned, simply addressing the posts which are open to everybody. Your ignorant wife then quoted each of us thus bringing in the names (can you not read?).
Now lets get the facts straight: - You joined a game hosted by Chipmunks and asked if he had any of your maps which he replied he did not have any of them. Apperently you seemed to have taken this personally and... - A day or two later you sent me a message stating " your co-op map The Black Gold looks suspiciously like my map Vertex" (An insinuation that we stole you map) - You sent me another message that "your friend Chipmunks is a common thief" because you assumed he stole Arise Chicken's map 'Rovian Sancuary' when he made 'Com Company'. - You sent me a message that the base in the Lambo-Chipmunks co-op map (Initiate Contdown) looked just like your base in 'Malea Base' - Yesterday I asked you about your map 'Cradel of the Sun' looking like Halo 'Relic'. You admited it was yet you didn't even have the integrity to call it Halo Relic, you gave it your own name thus taking credit for the design, blatent plagerism. - One of the last messages you sent me was that Chipmunks 'Air Defense' was just an expanded 'Aegis Core' (It is now titled 'The Core' if anyone cares to do a comparison). You are obviously delusional about your accusations. __How am I speaking for Chipmunks when your first accusation (sent to me) was addressing our co-op map and you sent me messages containing all your other accusations to which I responded. Can you and your wife be any more pathetic, make false accusations and when confronted on it you tell us to drop it. Are you serious ? __ No need to get upset at me for this post. You sent me the accusations and I am simply defending myself amd setting the record straight. Thank your wife for bringing this to the public forms by quoting our general observational statements and confronting us. Way to go Vixen ! Long Live the King ! I don't know who stole the ideas of who, or if even there were thefts.
Unless you have obvious proofs, I think it's a bad idea to accuse anyone. |
