heavy map...I just have one problem now...im not sure if its really
good playable from the performance aspect?! so i would be glad 4

Looks outstanding! I can see though why you'd be concerned about potential performance issues- you have a whole lot of custom detail packed into a tight space. Were you able to place a fair amount of Occlusion?

thx 4 the feedbacks. again.... Wink

@ CrazyUncleDave

yes i put a lot occlosionblocks in the boarder-houses of the map and i tried
to build the houses, within the map, only limited walkable, so i can
put some occlosions in between. its difficult to put more in there, because
its all so compact. gladly the other two performance aspects (memory usage and bits) are
good. maybe it will balace it self out. the worse ingame fps i got so far
was "16"....on highest "grafics"

i just took out all the lights, waterholes and doubled objects that
are seen on the screenshots...gained some "fps" Crack Whip

WOW ! That's really nice dude. Thumbs Up

Keep up the talent and the great work. Pretty nice work there.

So has Occlusion always worked on all of your Maps ? I heard that the blocks sometimes don't work in conjunction, and do they 'Always' give a performance gain (fps)? Just a thought.

Anyways, Happy Mapping ! Wink Happy

Cryerstone!

Looks awesome. I'm jealous because this was a type of map I was debating on making as a followup to one of my hits. I opted for a more naturalistic styled map instead of urbanized. Good job with this one.

sadly i was too busy to make a full server run on my own...
as soon as i do so, i will inform about any possible changes.

@ KingDaniel

yea those damn "Occlusionblocks" Wink are a thing 4 them selfs.
sometimes they make a differnce and sometimes they dont!
lol, youre right...(dont if you knew but...) i didnt used them
in all of my maps. sometimes it would have been worse with occlusions...

again thanks 4 replies

Ok, we played map and few guys was desorientated (but they are noobs lol Twisted), because you keep theme so good that its sometime a bit difficult navigate there. Mainly once you respawn inside house. But its not serious issue.
FPS - well, if you run it on setting up to medium, than you drop to 30 or so one. Maybe there is still some room for more oclusion blocks or reducing all not necessary objects.
If I could, I would suggest to try go to this direction and then release 1.1 vesrsion.
But still - awesome work Thumbs Up

Hey happycamp, Happy

Yes, I know about Occlusion Blocks. The secret is that you need to use them wisely. Try using a single block for an object, instead of joining/snapping 2 blocks. It's a bit tricky and you need to test/experiment it.

They are invisible objects, so you must try to place them 'underneath' other objects to block them completely.

Anyways, Happy mapping. Keep them coming. Looking forward for more of your stuff. Wink Thumbs Up

Awesome work i love the theme, as a player normally i'm not a big fan of the colonial fence but you made it work with the wood well.
I really hope you get the occlusion working for you i think the fact that your buildings aren't totally used internally may make it possible to get it more functional and the wall in the middle could help you heaps more too.
I'd recommend an optimized version to anyone and would definitely be a 5 star map.
