Two things inspire me to make maps, and neither of them are music:

1) Model Train Syndrome: I get obsessed with making huge detailed city maps. The best one so far I think is Secret Valley... can you find all its secrets?

2) Awesome Matches: making an interesting map, with room for strategy, but controlled enough to keep the action hot. Keeping the factions together, but not TOO close together. Avoiding boring matches, wander-fests or frantic train-wrecks. Try North-South Crossing or Custom Mode Beta--these have been the setting for the best matches I have ever played.

Music inspires me to make music.

And you know what de-motivates me? Knowing that I slave over my maps, but all my friends are real-friends without PS3s, so basically my maps rarely get played.

Still, I keep trying.

My FC2 Maps, for PS3, all of them optimized for Team Deathmatch:
North-South Crossing (a compact battlefront and a hot combat zone, suitable for all classes)
High Noon (a classic western shoot out in a one horse town... except with assault rifles)
Wasteland Refuge (influenced by Megaton from Fallout 3, a dense collection of buildings with great verticality)
Blitz Creek (a wide open waterway where cars and boats can mix it up, shallow water prevents crouching and firing. pretty much a sniper map)
Siege of Station A21 (yes, a siege: the APR can't get out and the UFLL can't get in, all fire takes place through windows and boarded up doors)
North Quarter (an urban assault with advancing battlefronts)
Secret Valley (a large, detailed city with many secrets to discover)
Custom Mode Beta (I'm trying to create a new game type)
Hate Thy Neighbor (urban battlefront, gang warfare)

I can't believe I almost for got one of the most awesome bands of all times... the Tommy Seebach Band. These guys have it all, including one of the most dynamic and visually engaging drummers EVER. (too bad he doesn't get more screen time). If having this cranked at full volume doesn't get your map-making juices flowing, I don't know what will.

My 360 Map Collection: Suspendead, Curve Damage, Doom Dome, Fatalitrees, Spherikill, Pyramayhem, Valley Ho, No Quarter, Purpose Unknown

Co-op Maps: Ciriculus Alliance

Im not exactly sure what motivates me. I like it when people have a fun ame in one of my maps, and seeing the others have fun in something I created is a big reward for me. I feel bed if we have a suck map sneak into rotation, or one of mine fails for whatever reasons. It bothers me that people supposed to be having fun and the maps suxx adn no one is actually having fun.

I guess what motivates me is others having fun, and of course I like to hear 'nice map' now and then Smile

I'm really observant of all the buildings and things around me in real life which actually spawns new map ideas in my mind almost instantly. I also get a ton of map ideas when I'm sleeping or dreaming.
