Well I took a few weeks off from this game while I was moving and just to recharge.
I finished a grid map that I was starting on before I quit. It is a little larger than a grid now but not by much. It should make a good Starter map for when people are hosting while there is only a few people. I have no pictures yet but by tomorrow I should have a couple. The map is small and would probably work best with 6-10 players. It is basically a series of trenches laid out like a star with a central command bunker and 3 outlying anti-air bunkers. There are also two bases. The central bunker has (8) mounted machine guns. Two facing each direction. They have limited visibility for the trenches. They are mainly for getting the people who get bove the trench line who are trying to get to the outer bunkers. Each outer bunker is fitted with an Anti-air gun which can be mounted at each base. Great for bombing the crap out of the rest of the map. You can travel between the bunkers though set action zones where conflict will definitly happen. But watch out, you can be taken out by the machine guns in the central bunker since there is little in the way of cover. This was a fast and fun map to make. Sure its ugly and basic but that's ok. hopefully it will also play decent. It will be published by tomorrow, so please DL and give it a play. Let me know what you think. |

Ok here are some pictures of the map.
WARNING: It is not pretty This is an overhead of the layout with all fogging and collections off. The map is primarily geared towards Uprising with the central bunker acting as a choke point. One of the battle zones between the anti-air bunkers. You can enter from the trenches or each base. Also because of selective destruction, some areas are more open than others. Anti-Air Bunker Front view of a bunker Each bunker is broken into separate areas. Here you can see the capture point and the scaffold that gets you into the Anti- Air gun turret. It is a morter that can hit most of the map. There is also a generator directly above the capture point for electrocuting fools. The APR base. used for spawning and CTD. UFLL Base also for CTD Inside the central bunker Different view of the central bunker. You can also get on the roof of the central bunker and access scaffolds that get you out of the trenches. If anyone plays it please let me know what you think or if anything is not working so I can fix it. Thanks This map is very small with a good amount of explosive defense all around. |

I like the WWII atmosphere it has.
I haven't tried the map yet, but from the pictures there's one thing I noticed; the spikes alongside the trenches are pointing inward, while you would expect them to point outwards to keep enemies out of the trenches, instead of keeping your own troops in... wow. it's not pretty, ugly and basic.
but hopefully, it will at least play decently. well, more seriously, despite not being a big fan of i mzeeEVIL 1's maps (now everyone think that I think that i mzeeEvil 1's maps suck I will still check it. |

You...you think my maps suck? -sniff- re..re..really? Thats Ok, overall I probably have about 8-10 hours into this map. I wasn't even sure I would finish it but figured what the hell right? I have a couple of others in the pipeline and I actually sketched a new one today(even though as per Doctors orders I should not be drawing) So maybe I will make something more impressive. Besides, considering the non-response that Killtown 2 in 1 got after all of the work that went into it, I deserve a simple little map. @WOLF; I put the spikes that way to keep people in the trenches. The angled walls in some areas are easier to climb up. |

I still haven't been able to set my eyes on the map, run around, check it in the editor, etc. At first glance the layout kind of resembles a swastika.. I remember you saying trench somewhere and thought maybe it was intentional?

I've just seen it, and actually that looks promising. I quite like it. but of course I spotted some flaws :
minor ones : -a flashy wall in that bunker used 3 times -there are some bits of rocks which go through some walls of those bunkers. more annoying ones : -you get stuck in the ramp, trying to exit one of the 3 identical bunkers. -you have to crouch to reach the turrets at the upper floor of the bunkers. -the map is kinda confusing, maybe there should be some differences between the 3 bunkers. ****ing deadly one : there is a ****ing hole near the entry of one of the bunkers. fell in it and stayed stuck.
actually, I noticed it could be used to jump over the trenches (in some places) |

I wouldn't mind if you ran it Dave. I am going to address all of the things Fauch was kind enough to spot and republish the Beta.
I will send you a message when I do it. Won't be until a little later though. Thanks Fauch. BTW the Crouching to get into the turrets is one of those gotta accept it things. The ladders would not work at all no matter what I did. The bunkers I may be able to add some signs to them but during Uprising they all have a letter over the top of them. |

I ****ing struggled to get the biggest ladder right in my map "blood red"
(yeah, I begin using ladders, but very moderately) anyway, overall I'm not fond of anything which will make you an easy target such as getting stuck where you shouldn't get stuck and having to climb ladders. but in the bunkers, you should be moderately safe. |

It doesn't look ugly, it looks pretty cool. Nice layout ! Graffiti on the base bunkers and some arrow/ signs in the trenches may help the confusion mentioned. Destroyed fence at impact crater is nice touch. Good lookin' map, I'll have to dl for a closer look.

This map played very well. Great layout, great size. A few more tweaks would be good on it but the game play is definitely there. Good one, EVIL!

Dave thanks for running it. I am sorry I didn't make the game last night. The Doctor has me taking muscle relaxers for my arm and those things send me to la-la land within an hour.
Before Dave ran the map last night, I fixed everything that Fauch was kind enough to point out for me. I also raised the central bunker up about a foot or two to make sure that it could hit the outer battlezones more and the main path less. I also added arrows going to each base. I really ned to try to play a game on it today. Thanks for hosting it Dave and thanks also to Mikk_Q for the kind words. I like the impact crater and how I used the sandbags there. |
