I found another interesting one :
"far cry palace" by XxXCASHnDASHXxX (I'm not completely sure of the name btw)
it has many similarities with "Cyprus"

I think both Far Cry Palace and CYPRUS have both made the Ubi recommended list. Both are excellent maps.
@CUD; Thanks for the shout out about MECH Factory. I thought it would have gotten noticed before.

PC:
The two maps I like to play are:

1. Onslaught 2.0 - by Michael Naeseth
2. Dust1_Reloaded - by Vayenaka

Hope those havent been listed already.. I looked and didnt see them.

Good to see some relatively obscure maps getting attention here. I'll see if I can DL a few and take a look. I have to do some camera work for my latest creation first, and since I only slept 3 hrs last nite then worked 11 today, I'm a bit drained.

Keep helping out the fellow gamer!

I was thinking of another map, but accidently deleted it while I wanted to open it (I kinda remember its name, so I shoud be able to download it again)

apart from that
-"asgaroth" from aki carter
unfortunately lacks detailing, but it's worth checking imo, quite promising.

Not that he needs the plug, but I gotta say Mike G Live's "UFC 2009 MRG" is a BRILLIANT map! You really have to see this one...the gym, the motorcycle, the stadium lighting...everywhere you look, there's something cool to see. Great map!!!

I haven't played it yet, but the layout looks VERY solid.

what, do that mike guy have any known maps? Tongue

I could add all the maps from shortbull nl on that list too, but I'm not sure he really needs it, except maybe if time square is casting too much shadows on his other maps.

I'm fairly certain that Mikk Q does his best to get his maps known, but if they were not on a Recommended list, they are VERY welcome to be posted here. I have FC2 on PC, but from what I see and hear, he is one top-notch designer.

I think ubi should control the recommended list because it keeps out the bias that voting might bring. But that doesn't mean we can't have our own lists as its a great idea. There are some maps that I dont quite understand how they got there but hey no matter how the system works there are always going to be better maps that are left out. And yes if 175 hasn't been on the list that damn well should be, however it wouldn't be on the first page since they appear by the pub date and that maps been around for a while. Well all I can say is that maybe if we keep this forum flooded with great maps every week there might be a greater chance of weeding out the weaker picks.
But hey if not, its ok , just remember that saying every dog has its day.

Yeah, I realize this system isnt perfect. But its just another way to get some of these maps recognized and played more. No matter what system is running things, there are always ways around it. The best thing we can all do is to be honest and realize that some people just dont care about honesty and honor. They will do whatever it takes to get what they want. These types usually fizzle or self destruct given time.

Thank you for taking interest in this thread, I myself will take a little time out over the upcoming weekend to review a few more maps that look promising. We can help build a strong game community if we all just put a little time in. Whether you come right here after work as I do a lot and browse all kinds of threads or just visit once in a while, evey little bit helps.

O, I took the time out to review 5 recently uploaded maps. I wont mention the ones that didnt make the cut, but one stood out among the rest. It is a Beta, so hopefully the creator is visiting this site so he/she can get some feedback.

Map: NuclearSub-Mutiny(beta) by R6 Eagle_9

This map has some imaginative use of the brushes. It was very fun to run around in and look at; as I said it is quite imaginative. It is definitley a different kind of map, and thats what I'm looking for.

The only issues I saw in the run through are it seems there are too many objects being used (including a LOT of lights, which are HUGE resource hogs) and it can get just a little laggy in places. Its not too bad at all on my machine (described in my signature) and with a little polishing could be an excellent map to play. I can offer more assistance in optimizing the map should R6 Eagle_9 read this and ask.

All in all, this beta is worth a look at.

I will go over 5 recently added maps every few days, besides what I do for individuals here who are asking for some constructive criticism.
I had thought of going over more at a time once a week, but as I am doing a lot of things involving gaming a short amount of time a little more often is more practical.

So, remember this map is a beta, and can definitly benefit from some exposure. Take an objective look and PLEASE do not be too critical. Flaws are the very reason we put out a beta first.

I have downloaded a few maps and will go over them tomorrow. I will post the best map in the evening, probably late as I'm getting a website up and running concerning FC2 maps and such. Hopefully I can include a forum.

I have a temporary, basic 'under construction' page up for now detailing a few of my maps. This will be replaced by a drastically different website following the completion. It will also inform visitors of maps that have fallen through the cracks.
