Asteroids is a new map I made for fun after seriously constructing a space ship. (we'll get to that) The map is currently only a DM map as teams would put one at a disadvantage given the layout of the map.

It consists of a spaceship that is playable all over the outside as well as -yes- on the inside too! It is set drifting in an asteroid belt, with all of the nearby asteroids fully accessible and playable. There are obvious paths made of 'adjustable' bridges (asteroids drift after all) and also a heavy platforming elemnt as there are many ways to go just by jumping from meteorite to meteorite. The ship lies at the center of it all, and is completely playable inside and out.

I got a lot of praise for this on, mainly the concept and the ship construction. The map plays snipey by nature, but anything short of a shotty can reach most enemies; and sniping isnt the easiest thing to do. There are explosives at every sniper platform and also there is an auto 'peppering' of explosins on the asteroids around the ship, simulating weapons fire explosions. I also snuck a few nicely placed .50 cal turrets in









The ship (the whole reason the throw this 'concept' map together) will definitely be making an appearance in my next map. (or 2, I have two in the works )

in some of my maps which normally wouldn't be balanced for team games, I use the same spawns for teams than for dm (basically, the teams have no bases, they can spawn anywhere in the map)
it will be hard to make ctd work that way, but with uprising and tdm I guess it should be fine.
