ok look at the pic....





now the 1st thing that come to your mind was?
a, deep space communication center
b, bunch of planes slapped together

it's something i'm working on but i won't add those antenna type bits if it doesn't look real to ppl.

I would classify these as 'statues' and although effective in setting the mood or telling the back story of your map, they often are not important to 'gameplay'.

If you can find a way to make them important to the 'flow' and 'fight' of your map then I think you should keep them. Otherwise I would suggest straying away from building elaborate objects that are not used for another function as they hinder one of my imaginary Six Golden qualities of maps, Performance.

Having said that, they look neat. My first impression was the Transformers Home World. If the rest of the map relies heavily on this type architecture, then make it work. If you design them in a way that Occlusion blocks can be put inside them, even better! Wink

dont worry i try to never release a map that lags, and as you can sorta see from the picture they actually are used as a bridge and also for fighting around the base.

i was gonna try making an indoor map but when i saw how the top looked when exposed i decided to try an outdoor/indoor map.

I didn't recognize the bridge until you pointed it out. Can't wait to kill people on it.

i made an outside map since i kept the transmitter type thing, may work on an internal map later coz theres some other features i could add with the plane theme in mind
