hello all. this is the first map i've made after my very long absence from far cry 2. i tried to make it really detailed and cool, but while also keeping performance in mind somewhat. also the last maps i made everyone said were too big. so this is a sort of medium size. it supports TDM and CTD.

please check out these screen shots and let me know what you think and stuff. any feedback either way wouuld be much appreciated Smile

Judging from the pictures, it looks like a nature lovers map. I myself am not too fond of jungle maps or anything thats mostly collections or natural brushes. Im sure there are plenty of players it will suit though Smile

Glad to see people are returning to FC2 and the map editor Typing

You may want to spread out your spawn points a little at the bases and add a couple of forward spawns closer to the center of the map for more instant action. Maybe a rock outcrop or terrain bump up on the inside bend on APR side to balance it out You may want to add a foot path or two. Maybe one goes up and over a suspension bridge(s). Personally I don't like the paths that come with the game, mainly to their abrupt ending not blending into surrounding texture. I would just delete some of the collection plants and paint them with jungle roadside blended with the texture you used around your base. Do you have any huts or structures at your bases for cover, not that they are needed, just curious?
I think the "queys (SP) for docks would look more appropriate for your natural setting.
I would also suggest practicing with the bump and noise tools to add some varied height in your terrain. Once you get good with them along with the smooth and ramp tools you'll be dangerous.
Maybe a little large for Team Deathmatch but looks like a winner for Capture the Dimonds
As always, these are just suggestions that may or may not work/help. Just trying to help, do what you think is best to your best ability.

awesome. thanks so much for the feedback everyone. i will definatly spread out those spawn points a bit. also, no there are no other huts, i wanted to keep it isolated feeling. however, looking at it now i do think the cover is a little dense, maybe i will have to update it a bit. also, i'll definatly look at those queys. the map as a whole is a bit big, its so hard to keep them small i always find. when you're in the editor everything looks so tiny. and then i guess when you're in game everything is like a three hour trek away. but then again i wanted to keep the action on the water a bit too. anyways, thankyou everyone for the feedback and advice and stuff Smile

Valiant effort for a first map. You have a structure and some alternative modes of transport via boat. Good job.

Try quadrupling the amount of spawn points you have right now, for both teams, and place them everywhere you can on their respective sides. You should never, and I repeat NEVER, use the bare minimum of spawns.

I would suggest you use grid when you start make map and put there some marks, whose should help you keep inside four 64x64 squares, what is by my opinion good maximum dimension of the map. Wink It means that distance between diamonds cant be longer than 150 meters or so one..
