Hello everyone,
I am completely new to Far Cry2 mapping and this community. I am puttering around with an outdoor project for PC in my spare time. I figured I would post a few initial shots to see if anyone had some good input. There is a serious amount of work to be done for it yet, but it is getting there little by little. I am planning it for DM and TDM for now.

Going by the screenshots the environment looks nice and objects well placed...my only concern is the size of the map.
How many grid squares is it? since most ppl(not all) prefer smaller maps roughly 2x2 grid squares max. |

and weirdly most people build huge maps.
it looks too big for my taste also. and maybe a bit too open also. |

Yes, it seems to be too big, maybe it could help you check your editor settings and click on "Show the grid". Then try keep playable area inside 4 - 6 squares (64x64).
And make sure that is possible to go out from watter because those watersides seems to be unscalable what could be very very frustrating in the game. But still - nice start, keep it trying make better and better |

Thanks for the rapid input guys! I completely hear you on the size comments. Honestly I made it is this big on purpose. I am intending this first map of mine to be an exploratory environment with plenty of vehicle transportation available. I am also going to be making plenty of areas where people can get out of the water so it is not extremely frustrating.
My fist attempt is so big because I really just wanted to spread my wings as I am used to Quake 4, Doom 3, Quake3, and Jedi Academy mapping which were all very small scale and corridor based for the most part. |

Well, you can use in one map 6 vehicles only... And you are welcome, come back with your new project soon Happy mapmaking |

No worries. I am aware of the limitations

The map looks good, yes, but it's nothing e haven't seen before, it's not really unique.
